Since I'm bored and Luigi's Mansion 3 comes out soon, I decided to make this topic so we can all show our appreciation for the (2nd) best villain in the franchise.
Me I always replay Luigi's Mansion when kids come by my house for candy. It fits the mood and I can usually finish the game about the same time the kids stop coming.
Just announced via the Direct.

I think we all generally know what we the more long running fans of the series think but what about the younger folk? Those whose most recent games are barely a few years old and are only a few years old?
Do they like Mario? Do they hate it? Do they have any opinion on the current series of...
Mario in general is known to be a rather weird franchise but some games even by Mario standards are just plain bizarre. So thats what this topic is about.
So here is a list that I made that involves what I feel to be the most bizarre and out there Mario games.
Super Mario Land 1 and 2. Flying...
Note, Mario vs Donkey Kong also includes the original arcade games and the gameboy game. You can include the mini mario focused games if you'd like but I am primarily thinking about the ones where you control Mario himself.
Seriously, during the gamecube and early wii era that guy was in like EVERYTHING.But nowadays he's all but vanished. He doesn't even make cameos in sports games anymore. The last time he appeared was in Dream Team and in Paper Jam he seems even further absent.
Did they just finally unofficially...
I think he's a swell guy who will help you out in a pinch, he loves adventure and seems to really enjoy jumping all over the place with all his constant shouting and woohoos and stuff.
Unfortunately there isn't much more to him than that. You could probably get a few more trinkets from him here...
I've been a fan since about 1996 so 19 years (I'm 23 incase your wondering) my first game was the original SMB but the game that really cemented my love for this franchise is SM64 which I look on with fond memories but is hardly my favourite due to liking others more.
He's more or less Bowser's right hand man and has been in countless games but he looks absolutely no different from any other magikoopa.
But whenever he does appear he's pretty much always the only magikoopa there so one could argue a re-design is unnecessary.
What do you guys think?
Simple question, due to how prevalent she is in many games as of late despite being a fairly young Mario character do you think shes over exposed and overdone or do you think it's perfectly ok?
I know people give the series flack for lack of originality but I think thats mainly due to 2 similar games being released at a very close proximity. If they made another one that took better advantage of the wii u's technology they could easily create one that feels fresh or interesting.
Not that I dislike how it is now. It looks great but I can't help but wonder what it would be like had it remained a Mario title like it initially was going to be.

''We have decided to give the character a break to try something a little different.''-Miyamoto
Excuse me I need to go cry in a corner.
Simple really. Things in this franchise that when they happen it just sucks the fun out of the game for you.
For example I hate 100 coin stars. Purple or otherwise.
It's not as weird as the Super Mario land games but in comparison to its other 3D brothers it stands out as a real oddball.
It lacks a lot of the standard Mario enemies, it's very slow to start off and for whatever reason tries to set up some mystery involving shadow Mario there are no question...
A very intricate part of the franchise. Name your favourites and come up with your own.
A simple topic to try and cure my boredom.
Right, my favourite power up, fire flower. A classic that for me never gets old. I love killing enemies with it.
As for an idea for a new one, I think one where...
Sure they play like how you'd expect a Mario game to play but its the style, the characters and enemies that you encounter that make them really feel separate from what you normally see in Mario.
Especially the first game. Exploding koopas? Easter island heads that fly? Schmup levels? Strange...
Obviously your milage may vary on this but for me its damn near perfect. It has the largest amount of playable characters, second only to its sequel. The mechanics are all easy to learn but there is plenty of depth to them to make for addicting gameplay, and its Challenge mode is extremely...
And I don't mean sequels, I mean new spin offs.
So off the top of my head, here are some I wouldn't mind seeing.
Mario mystery dungeon
Mario football (american)
Mario warriors
Some kind of Bowser game
Mario themed Sim City
Probably more but thats it for the moment, what do you guys think...
I know I made a similar thread for goombas, but I realized that ultimately all the classic (and not so classic) enemies of this franchise are important and were just as necessary to its success as the main man himself.
So I create this thread in honour of every koopa I stomped, every piranha...
Mario has generally been known to be a rather flat character, not having much beyond being really happy go lucky and enthusiastic about everything he does, which while not bad traits in of themselves they do feel a bit lacking compared to other characters.
So its simple really, what kind of...
As anyone who knows anything about me, Goombas are my favourite minion species whatever in the entire franchise, they serve a simple but important purpose to the series and have appeared in countless games.
I love these guys. No arms, no limbs, barely a body beyond their head but they are...
Boredom has struck me so, I made this for my favourite character.
In this thread its all Bowser, all the time, so lets have it, compliments, criticisms, complaints, opinions, you got something to say about the koopa King lets have it.
Yes, this thread is for Wario, about Wario, is filled with Wario.
There is more Wario than you can shake a Wario at.
So yeah, been going through my Wario games lately, being reminded how much I love em, especially the Wario land series (my favourite is the 4th)
What do you guys like, or...
If anyone knows anything about me, its that I'm a Bowser fanboy and that I don't have the highest opinion of Super Paper Mario. With aspects that range between dislike to outright hatred. So out of boredom and to stop derailing topics about it I'm going to put all my opinions of the game into...
I was playing through it earlier and its a rather neat detail. The worlds themselves change between night and day in a very specific fashion over the course of the game, as detailed below.
World 1:Morning
World 2:Afternoon
World 3:Night
World 4:Morning
World 5:Afternoon
World 6:Night
World...
Yeah I know its weird to have a thread for that considering he's the main character but despite that and his one note personality he's still a great character and should be admired.
So yeah, praise be to him and all the amazing games he's starred in.
After Dream Team where could they possibly go? What would you like to see? Gameplay mechanics? Old characters? New characters? New locations? Old locations?
Should characters like the babies or Bowser return to be playable?
Ideas, concepts, wants, things you don't want, drop em all here friends.
Now that Captain Toad is on its way he's pretty much the only one left of the main cast who doesn't have a game to call entirely his own.
I'd imagine he's certainly popular enough to warrant one.
why not just have it where they were raised by Yoshis?
I mean they are raised by Dinosaurs! Not only is that awesome but it would fit perfectly with the bizarre world that they exist in!
