Unpopular opinions about the Mario series

Yeah i think Color Splash is better than Sticker Star too....but not better than the first 3 paper marios.

Since I havent played Pm64 or TTYD or even watched many videos of it, I dont know what the old battle system was like. But color splash's battles arent nearly as out there as what i saw of OK

Basically, I believe it's a tad too slow with all the card and paint things going on and it encourages players to skip regular enemies battles since it's quite unrewarding. I've heard of many people quitting the game solely because of the battle system. But again, to me Color Splash is a pretty solid game on its own, I enjoyed it a lot - even though Kiwano Temple was literally a pain to complete - and I didn't suffer the battle system as much as many other people.

Yea honestly. I like smw, but there are other way better 2d mario games imo. Yoshis Island is the only yoshi game I've played, so while my opinion on it could change if I play another one, I prefer it over smw

Also the only two paper marios I havent played are the "bad" ones (sticker star and color splash). Im pretty sure ill enjoy color splash if u play it, because I loved origami king and had no problems with what people were complaining about

All of the Paper Marios seem okay to me.
I've only played one though, so maybe this'll change.

Why so? I'm just curious.

for some weird reason i liked slowly adjusting the boat, scoring a perfect trajectory, then jumping off to land on the final platform as the boat crashed and sunk. the boat's mechanics only became frustrating when i tried collecting the blue coins (surprise surprise).

Fair enough I guess. As for me, I could never stand that horrible boat; I think it's awfully annoying and anticlimatic. But it fits very well with Sunshine style I guess.

The real name for that underwater track in Super Mario 64 is Jolly Roger Bay, not Dire Dire Docks.

actually, the original soundtrack calls it 'WATER', so that is the TRUE name of the song.

though the American release calls it "Dire Dire, Docks".

anyway this isn't just some weirdness with early releases, it was most recently featured on 'THE 30TH ANNIVERSARY SUPER MARIO BROS. MUSIC', where it was listed as this (Track 29):

and I don't understand Japanese, so I don't know what that means, however VGMdb lists it as 'Water Round', and MarioWiki lists it as 'Water Level', so checkmate athiests.

anyway I probably completely missed your point, but now you know what the song I think you might be referring to has been officially named as.

Funny how they use a very literal translation for the Bowser related songs.

It should say Bowser's road instead.

Localization teams localizing japanese names be like

speaking of galaxy, practically every star people say is too hard or unfun is the opposite in my opinion (not all of them but still). i dunno maybe im just too good at the game?

Spring Mario in Galaxy 1 and 2 seems to have a bad reputation due to the controls, but the controls didn't really bother me too much. I also didn't hate the Fluzzard levels, although it can be a bit frustrating.

I do hate that one star where you have to blow up the boxes with the bombs.

Don't they give you a fire flower to deal with the crates? The bombs one is in mario galaxy 1 iirc

The fire flower one was in Galaxy 2, which from I remember was much less frustrating.

The galaxy 1 one was much less of a headache once I figured out you could just throw the bombs on the glowing spots for the thing to work. It's all just a matter of timing the throws

But yeah I agree
