This was nothing short of a masterpiece.

Toy Story 4

Loved it! I was definitely not expecting that ending but hey.

I guess this means the series is finally concluded. 3 was already a good conclusion but this pretty much seals the deal, with Woody no longer living with the other toys including Buzz. I'm glad for this conclusion and while I think it's a good place to end the series, I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't miss Woody, Buzz and the crew. They were introduced to the world the same year I was and are responsible for a lot of nostalgic memories. Adios, fellas.

I saw Toy Story 4 yesterday.

The ending seriously made me cry. I mean, to see these two friends who I knew since childhood finally split apart was so tear-jerking. I mean, I know Woody and Bo Peep are happy together and all, but I was just so sad to see Woody and Buzz have that final moment together. Man, that hit me right in the heart.

Toy Story 4

When I first heard of the movie being a thing I was wondering how they could have followed up the ending to the 3rd one... And they followed it up amazingly to my surprise, I nearly cried (for some reason I don't get emotional when I watch movies, so nearly crying is kinda like crying to me; I did it with 3 as well) and the other parts of the movie were funny and it was a really fun watch. I think this might be the finale for the series unless they somehow manage to make a 5th one which will hopefully be just as good as the first 4.

I've recently rewatched every James Bond film, and this is my new ranking of them:

1. The World Is Not Enough
2. GoldenEye
3. On Her Majesty's Secret Service
4. Die Another Day
5. Casino Royale
6. For Your Eyes Only
7. Licence to Kill
8. Tomorrow Never Dies
9. Moonraker
10. From Russia With Love
11. The Spy Who Loved Me
12. Goldfinger
13. The Man With The Golden Gun
14. Live and Let Die
15. Quantum of Solace
16. The Living Daylights
17. A View to a Kill
18. Dr. No
19. Diamonds are Forever
20. You Only Live Twice
21. Spectre
22. Octopussy
23. Skyfall
24. Thunderball

So me and TG went to watch Toy Story 4.

Oh boy.

This was pretty neat.

It just hit me, but this is the first Toy Story without an actual villain. Honestly, the ending wasn't as tearjerking as I've seen people make it out to be. It felt like a bittersweet farewell that leaned more on the sweet side of bittersweet. Sure Woody left his friends, but they were ok with it. No one really was sad about it because they knew in their hearts that as much as Woody really loves children, he really just wants to stay with Bo Peep.

Speaking of which, Bo Peep was a character I never cared about in her previous appearances. She never did much outside of reminding Woody that Andy needed him and she was the average "beautiful woman that serves as a secondary motivator for the protagonist."

Which is why I love what they did with her here. Now THAT's a Bo Peep I can be bothered to care about. She has seen development, she's now this independant clay figurine who thinks and acts like a real woman. She felt like a woman, if anything, she actually has a personality beside "Woody pls take care of our giant homie." Even still she still retains whatever sass she had back then and added so much on top of that. Never did I think I'd see the day when she’d start bossing around Woody. What a sight, she's really come a long way.

Forky on the other hand... I mean he’s a nice character and all, and very interesting design-wise, but to me he really felt like a plot device, with the devs making it so Bonnie needs him to the point where Woody has to go out of his way to rescue him, thus really taking up a big part of the movie. But at least that plot device lead to Woody finding his girl, so there's that. And my god are those visuals so gorgeous this time around.

So yeah... great movie. Also Woody X Bo is officially an OTP now. They had a lot more interaction this time, instead of having this minor dynamic. Yeah.

Toy Story 4

Saw this one in the theater; it ain't often when I get to see a movie there. But I must say, this was a great final chapter to the series. I'd say it's about on par with 3...but I'll have to wait for recency bias to wear off.

Spiderman Far From Home

Really cool movie. I think it's a great way to introduce us to the new Marvel phase after Endgame. Also Mysterio has to be one of the most badass Marvel villains, and the surprise plot twist did actually surprise me. I'd definitely recommend this movie, but not for non-fans, considering there's a lot of Endgame and other MCU movies crap.

SpiderMan: Far From Home

Yeah, you go, my guy. Up and at 'em! Go get that girl!

This was pretty amazing. Watching Peter just... walk in Tony's footsteps while being himself is just such a sight man, "This boy has become a man" ~Ned, 2019.

In all seriousness though, with how well the plot was written, it felt like Nick Fury was dragging Peter along the place. It's like a game of tag, except you're forcing the cat to run after its mouse. And I wasn't all that surprised with Mysterio being the bad guy since.. well, he normally is a bad guy in the comics, but when it did happen that was a real "shit got real" moment.

Speaking of Mysterio... so like, you know that archetype, when there's a villain who is made for you to hate beyond all else? Well Mysterio is that kind of despicable villain... done right. He's actually a good enough man to actually have people who respect him while people in this archetype are normally despised even by those who work on the same side. He also seemed to have respect for people, all of this, and you still think that his motives don't justify him murdering a bunch of 16 year-olds. Especially when that man you accuse of being a "stuffy blue-blood" is Tony, because Tony's done everything to deserve his position, I mean come on. Yeah, Mysterio has a balance of hate and sympathy about him, and that's what makes him so unique for me.

Great movie. That mid-credit scene is pretty awry but part of me is telling me that the news just go back on their statement and say "the video's fake", but we'll see what happens. I'm sure everyone will work out fine. And I'm definitely not gonna jinx this, am I?

Toy Story 4

One word. Amazing!

Hopefully, this is the end for the series!

The Lion King(2019)

A bit of a disappointment, the songs didn’t have the same enthusiasm as the original. Still good in all other areas though!

Saw Captain America: The Winter Soldier for the first time last night. My brother was right, it was awesome! (He'd already seen it long before.)

the Pit and the Pendulum starring Vincent Price

Missing Link

Very interesting! The story was very good!

Aladdin (2019)

Great remake of a great movie. I wasn't initially going to say this, but it might actually be even better. It may have removed a couple scenes I liked from the original, but the overall improvements just far outweigh it. Highly recommend.

Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.

Very funny. Though there are a lot of quiet moments in the movie.

I saw Spiderman: Far From Home this July. It was really good, I enjoyed it quite a bit. Better than Homecoming by a long shot.

Meet the Robinsons

I am inspired to watch this because not only is it a movie that I was interested in, but @Bowler Hat Guy indirectly reminded me to check it out because that was his theme. After watching it, I felt good about it. It's a fantastic Disney film with a really nice message.

I admit that as soon as I've seen what one of the characters is in the beginning, I knew who the bad guy is based on. The Robinsons are also quite a great bunch overall, and while the film is graphically simpler compared to future 3D animated films, I think it still looks great.

Thank you for reading.
