Meanwhile on the island of Sodor, Sir Topham Hatt (the controller of the railway there) is in a difficult situation - now that two of his engines are gone, other engines have to cover their jobs on top of their own, and Sir Topham Hatt is currently looking for other engines. However, no one wants to sell their engines to him because of various rumors and concerns from Duck and Diesel dissappearing and being allegedly killed.
