Things you didn't notice before in Mario games

Koopa Shell noises in MK are meant to sound like the noises Koopas make
Wait...
Does that mean they're still in there?
YOU GOTTA TELL THE WORLD THAT KOOPA SHELLS ARE MADE OUT OF PEOPLE

That's not actually in a Mario game but it has something to do with Mario.

Most Fire Emblem games have two units you get very early in the game, both cavaliers, one in red armor, the other in green. They're partners, or know each other, and have some sort of friendly rivalry.

I just realized those two guys obviously reference Mario and Luigi. Maybe not character-wise but the rest is there.

In Speed Skating 500m in 2010 Wii, each character type requires a different number of perfectly timed swings in a row to perform a dash. Also Waluigi has a funny losing animation in this event where he falls over, but I can't find a video of it at the moment.

I'm certain this image isn't a render of a 3D model but a complerely 2D vector graphic with shadow effects and gradients

Mips is more a reference to Alice in Wonderland, or at least it kinda quotes it.

i knew that in Mario Kart SC , all characters have the JP version voices, but i didn't notice until now that Yoshi has his usual Kazumi Totaka ''Yoshi'' sounds instead of the Mario Party and Mario Kart 64 ''animal'' sfx.

I still wonder what the hell the foley guy used for those yoshi noises.

Aren't the percussion-like noises just altered orchestra hit noises?
