Mario versus FanFiction (lotsa images warning)

Maybe, because Mario apparently knows what Star Wars and The Shining is to make those references in the first place (you know, that whole video with Charles Martinet and the "Lukee Imma your Papa" bit.

"Now let's see YOUR sweet smile!"

MvsFF_1_29_02.png

"Oh dear!"

MvsFF_1_29_03.png

Sure.

MvsFF_1_29_04.png

"On second thought, maybe we should... not."

MvsFF_1_29_05.png

"Did you call an ambulance?"

No, Merlon said a soup would be better.

"No dear, you eat soup when you've got a cold, not a head injury. Honestly, Merlon always mixes those two things up!"

MvsFF_1_29_06.png

Ok? Sure. Let's make a soup out of an object designed to set things on fire. What's next, spaghetti napalmoli?

MvsFF_1_29_07.png

Bored of your face now, checking out this DS dealio here instead.

MvsFF_1_29_08.png

It's not very entertaining either, though, so back to this conversation.

MvsFF_1_29_09.png

"We'll just add a little RUMMMM!

So the grumpy little PLUMMMM-

ber won't look quite so GLUMMMM!

Don't tell me that it's DUMMMM!

Or I'll take this metal spoon

and I'll shove it up your BUMMMM!"

MvsFF_1_29_10.png

Holy crap! Why do I have to go on these inane quests when you can just spawn these heart things from your head?

MvsFF_1_29_11.png

Yup! That seems safe!

MvsFF_1_29_12.png

Might as well get this over with.

MvsFF_1_29_13.png

Eat up, Princess!

MvsFF_1_29_15.png

MvsFF_1_29_16.png

AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!

MvsFF_1_29_17.png

MvsFF_1_29_18.png

...whoops.

MvsFF_1_30_01.gif

MvsFF_1_30_02.png

"I think I just saw a glimpse of heaven..."

MvsFF_1_30_03.png

You will have to put massive quotation marks around that "ok", Princess.

MvsFF_1_30_04.png

Hell.

Should have stayed with the angels, Princess.

MvsFF_1_30_05.png

Please note how nobody is even acknowledging Throwey here, even though he too is a Pixl and should logically be introduced.

This all ties back to how I said that Pixls are just floating abilities. They aren't treated like people, or anything really. They might as well not be there.

MvsFF_1_30_06.png

Don't fall for it, Princess. He's always trying to lure people into his house so he can babble at them.

Let's just leave and do our own thing for a whil--

MvsFF_1_30_07.png

Goddamn screen transitions!

Also, we ditched the blue guy with the watering can for a head. One would think he'd come along to get some closure regarding that whole girl from the sky ordeal, but the game forgot about him, and so should we.

MvsFF_1_30_08.png

Those lucky bastards get to be safe from the bullshit for a few more chapters.

MvsFF_1_30_09.png

Note how Peach is concerned for Bowser's safety.

MvsFF_1_30_10.png

MvsFF_1_30_11.png

You just made that up.

Also, I see what you are doing with that quote. By starting the prophecy snippet with a conjunction, you imply that there is more content to that sentence than you're actually showing. Thereby you are attempting to give the illusion that there's this whole coherent work that you're quoting from, without having to actually write any of it.

Except it doesn't work because this generic prophecy is not engaging enough to make me willing to suspend my disbelief. So in the end, you're just creating a very awkward sentence.

MvsFF_1_30_12.png

Do we even have to do that? I mean we've already established the path I must take is set in stone and recorded in the prophecy. Just read it and tell me.

MvsFF_1_30_13.png

MvsFF_1_30_14.png

Ugh, not ANOTHER one of you.

MvsFF_1_30_15.png

I've had all I can take. Get to the point and let us out of here.

MvsFF_1_30_16.png

So we get this key...

MvsFF_1_30_17.png

...and Merlon is making a big deal out of it...

MvsFF_1_30_18.png

...and how it will help us uncover the secrets of Flipside.

MvsFF_1_30_19.png

The lock that this oh so special key opens...

MvsFF_1_30_20.png

...is literally across the street right by Merlon's house.

Stop trying to sell this thing as if it's mystical and exciting, Merlon. Unlock your damn gates yourself.

MvsFF_1_31_01.png

Whatever is out there, it can't be any worse than the monsters I've seen in <-- this direction.

MvsFF_1_31_02.png

Man, I sure hate how a lot of game environments are nothing but gray and brown all over.

You can always count on Mario games to make a difference!

MvsFF_1_31_03.png

It's amazing how boring this supposedly secret area is. Yes, they managed to make secrets boring.

Maybe the reason for this place being secret is that nobody cares enough to talk about it.

MvsFF_1_31_04.png

MvsFF_1_31_05.png

Heart.

MvsFF_1_31_06.png

Pillar.

MvsFF_1_31_07.png

Ugly tower.

MvsFF_1_31_08.png

Door.

Now that we got that out of the way, we can move on to the next chapter.

MvsFF_1_31_09.png

Just kidding! We have to walk all the way back to the tower first.

And just to remind you: You still need to change characters every time you need to flip to 3D while controlling Peach, and it is still annoying.

MvsFF_1_31_10.png

Here we go again...
