Nintendo Direct Thread (Do NOT post here unless one is announced)

There is a controller that is recently patented by Nintendo, and it's very likely to be based on a classic controller. It is likely to be based on the Nintendo 64 controller, which would mean that the Nintendo Switch Online would've have another console ready. If that were the case, it would be a huge surprise if Banjo-Kazooie were available.

I'm primarily tuning in for Advance Wars content but sure, I guess new Mario Party and that last pass character would be nice...?

To me, it doesn't matter, my welcome wagon initiation of subjecting the new fighters to my brutal custom stage doesn't discriminate who's who. :)
 
Well, this Direct at least cleared the pretty low bar of being better than the June E3 Direct. The two best parts of are that there's finally a 3D Kirby game being released soon and that you can play Banjo-Kazooie in the future on the Switch. Still wish there was Mario Kart 9 or a sequel to Kid Icarus: Uprising. I'd give the E3 Direct a 4/10, but I'd give this direct about a 6/10. EDIT: Although that still is probably rounding up as you won't be able to play as Nick in Smash.
 
Actually, I wasn't expecting Genesis games on NSO so you win that one Nintendo.

- i was also playing through cliffside slide (tropical freeze level) the entire direct (i gave up doing irate eight shortly before the direct starting because my thumb hurt from holding b so much) and anyway i didnt beat cliffside slide. for some reason. despite it not even being that hard i think

not as good as the E3 direct imo but this was alright

3D Kirby existing at last and Banjo-Kazooie coming to the new N64 service were easily the new announcements I was most excited about, though Genesis also being added was a genuine (and welcome) surprise

It was an okay direct.

Highlights for me:

Chocobo Racing looks fun
3D Kirby game looks really really good
The casting for the Mario movie is hilarious and clearly the best part

No Advance Wars news which is saddening.
 
Really excited for Kirby and the Forgotten Land. I completely missed Banjo-Kazooie for NSO in the Direct until someone pointed it out afterwards, so looking forward to finally getting to play that for the first time. I laughed so hard at that Mario cast.
