I can tell that Shoey would probably deeply dislike this image if his comment on finding Mario without shoes to be unsettling is to go by. In this image, Mario is not only shown to be barefoot, he's not wearing a shirt! But I wonder if the opinion on Luigi would be similar.

After looking through the gallery of Mario Party 9, I noticed several images are pretty goofy/strange to me. So… I feel I should point them out!

When you think of a Whomp, you'd picture the enemy like this:

It's a completely normal Whomp! Now have a look at Mario Party 9's Whomp, who looks more menacing.

Looks possessed, does it not? It's got a bone to pick with the heroes…

Looking at King Bob-omb's artwork, he's about to throw a lit Bob-omb at something or someone, but who? Is it the Toad that's running away from him? That would make sense. If you were to look at this image without knowing anything about the game, you'd likely be confused due to the Koopa Troopa who looks as if he's saying "Save me!". Why would one of Bowser's elite members be so cruel to a fellow minion? That's because Koopa Troopa is a good guy in the game. Looks like he changed sides before officially becoming affiliated with Bowser's Minions in Super Mario Party.

In the minigame "Spike Strike", the goal is to pick up the hammers before your opponents do. You don't want to pick up the tree branches, as they only serve to hinder you. Frail twigs aren't meant to counterattack the Spike Balls! If you do happen to choose one, your character's icon will become sad (or depressed). It's funny! Here are some examples.

Princess Peach and Daisy cover their faces in shame, Wario looks like he lost all of his gold and Koopa Troopa is down in the dumps.

And then you have Mario, Luigi and maybe Birdo, looking like they haven't gotten enough sleep/feeling a little tipsy…

Lastly, I'd like to discuss the cover art for the game.

Looks pretty cool right? Yeah it does! We see Mario, Yoshi, Wario and Princess Peach aboard the car chasing after a Super Star. Other characters like Bowser, Waluigi, Birdo and Bowser Jr. aren't as apparent, but can still be seen if one looks closely enough.

Bit wait, where in the world is Luigi?! Oh wait - I found him!

Poor Luigi is trapped at the horrible Boo's Horror Castle. But why? Is he being punished for stealing Mini Stars from Mario? Did Bowser capture him? He may be faking it for all I know! We may never know why he's there…​
