I really love how Bowser lives in a miniature dollhouse-sized replica of his castle, That made me excited that someone who loves miniature things.
THE BONZAI TREE AND THE MULTIPLE PAINTINGS GT ME ROLLING INTO THE DEEP LAUGHING as a flower/plant lover & an artist

The first painting I think is supposed to be a reference to "The Scream" painting but with skeleton Mario.

His anger issues are relatable

the "HEY BIG GUY" from my favorite green guy and Mario's "it's trash" got be rolling laughing XD

And I recognize 2 of the galaxies in the trailer

The water one is either Cosmic Cove or Dripdrop

The Desert might be slipsand or dusty dune

The roulette one seems like it's based on sunshine instead of Galaxy with all the Ninjis

A: Never imagined Megaleg having a voice, now it won't leave my head
B: Jr. having a more grown-up voice might just be that he's hit teenage or later already in the movie, and to me it kind of fits despite the childlike voice I used to imagine him with
I honestly figured that Bowser Jr. would have a deeper voice compared to the games, and he is canonically 13 years old btw.

I still think its too soon to go into space when they've barely explored the world they created as is.

Yeah, that's a good point. It'd be weird to go back to explore other places on the earth as the theme of third movie.

I think that's the problem with Yoshi here. We should have enough time in Dino Island before having Mario and Yoshi travel in the space. Not only it would really waste the potential of Dino Island, but I think Mario and Yoshi's relationship also deserves a bigger focus in an independent movie.

Alright Nintendo, where's Waluigi? Uh, I mean, this movie looks really good so far, I noticed that the Mario Bros. and Peach + Toad weren''t shown together very often? I'm assuming the story is going to switch between their perspectives, which will be good to show off more locations and characters without rushing the plot too much. So far, this movie seems like an improvement over the first, though it is yet to be seen whether the plot will have more of a focus.

so guys... what did you think of official trailer for the Super Mario Galaxy movie? i think this is amazing, what about you?

IT WAS AWESOME! ROSALINA AND BOWSER JR LOOK AND SOUND AMAZING! SUPER HYPED FOR IT! AND LUIGI'S GONNA GET MORE SPOTLIGHT! 🤩

I enjoyed it, and I am excited for the movie! My only complaint is that they gave Bowser Jr. pupils, but that is such a specific and tiny problem. Other than that, it looks amazing!

I didn't really care that much for the 2023 Mario movie, and this sure looks like a sequel to that movie.
This is something that I agree with. I think I should either protest against this movie or hate this movie or don't care about this movie

Looks incoherent. Looks like it'll just be more visual spectacle. I'm interested.
Maybe I should protest or be against this movie. I don't know.

Judging from the trailer (I know I know, never trust a trailer) Bowser Jr. doesn't sound like Bowser Jr. No, it's not that he seems to be taking lead villain role over Bowser, that's fine. It's that he's way more mature than he should be. Read this:
From the ashes of his father's defeat, rises a new conqueror! The Bowser name shall be feared once more!
That's not my childish, spoiled, impulsive brat! That's like, an entire other person. Someone more mature, more driven, and who can see the bigger picture. In other words, not Bowser Jr.

I could see a pitch of "We've reinterpreted Bowser Jr. to be more mature" and I guess it could work... but he wears his bib in the sequence the quote is taken from and that just drains all the theoretical maturity. The writers, animators, etc would have have to fight the bib influence in every scene in order to successfully present a mature Bowser Jr. It's not that Bowser Jr. can't be serious with it on, its that the bib is supposed to be part of his "babyness" and Bowser Jr. in the scenes revealed in this Nintendo direct does not act in a way that supports the character traits the bib implies.

I feel like they could have deployed a Koopaling here instead. Ludwig seems to fit about right for the quoted line. Yeah yeah I know, that would mean splitting up the Koopalings since having all seven introduced in one film would stretch the ability to give them all focus time too far. But since the Donkey Kong inclusion of the last film means Illumination and Nintendo are clearly angling for a large shared universe, I think movies could include them one, two, or three at a time and eventually get the full seven.

To clarify my opinion on the first movie, I didn't think it was that bad, I just don't think it's the type of movie that really does anything special with the characters and world. I'd at least wait until the Galaxy movie comes out to decide whether you want to watch it to form an opinion or just ignore it.

I'm hella excited for this. Bowser Jr's eyes looking weird are really my only nitpick so far, but i think i'll get used to it. Rosalina looks exactly how everyone visualized her. I love that Mario just bluntly goes "it's trash" to Bowser's artwork, with the most direct, hateful tone imaginable. Mario isn't usually a character you'd expect to say that line with that delivery but i like it. Definitely don't take that as me liking Chris Pratt as a person though, i think the shit he's said recently should be career ending.

One thing i hope this addresses though, since Bowser Jr. is in this movie and by extension the continuity the first one takes place in,
why was Bowser's own son absent at his wedding?

EDIT: Also, the lack of any mention of Seth Rogen so far leads me to believe Donkey Kong isn't gonna be in this one. That's a shame imo, I like that the first movie set up a shared universe with Mario and the DK crew and I was hoping that would be a fixture of this movie series. Donkey Kong isn't Metroid or Zelda (totally separate universes). He's always existed in the same world as Mario, and the first movie taking advantage of that was refreshing after years of seeing people claim DK is not meant to be part of the Mario world and is held back by association to Mario. Even if we get a DK centric movie, I wouldn't want it and the Mario movies treated as separate universes like that part of the fandom would seem to want.

The first won't be effective. You can feel what you want about it.

I don't like Nintendo becoming Disney. Of course they had to collaborate with the cheapskate "make the most money as possible" studio. The first Mario Movie is Illumination's best-looking production and that's why the movie's pacing suffered I think, it felt rushed because of production costs lol.

I know it was only a trailer, but I wish this was entirely focused on the new stuff (Rosalina, Bowser Jr., etc.). It was good, but like half the video was about tiny Bowser, who I admit is funny, but I wanted to see what Galaxy had to offer, you know? Tiny Bowser could still be shown a few seconds though.

But what we DID see was pretty cool. Bowser Jr.? Megaleg? Princess Peach battling Ninjis in a casino-themed galaxy? Yeah! And we get to see Rosalina a little at the end of it all… I'm excited and will be seeing this film in theaters when it releases in April.

Was that Bowser Jr. Wonder form? Interesting mix...

I wonder if they'll cram SMB3, SMW, SM64, SMS references somewheres in all of this. Since they skipped it all XD

I also wonder if it's going to be so nonlinear we'll see Odyssey refrences in this movie too

And since they did Mario Kart last movie.. I'd love to see Mario Party in this one!

The trailer looked nice, I liked Rosalina's portrayal in here, loved seeing her read the storybook to Lumas as well as destroying Megaleg with her wand. Hearing Bowser Jr.'s voice made me laugh, reminds me of how the kid was voiced in The Lorax, it really doesn't fit him at all.

Not expecting the sequel to be very narrative driven and I'm expecting it to hit like the same kind of really story-lite spectacle-heavy brisk pacing, a parade of references and fan service that was part of the original movie. And you know what? I don't that much of an issue with it either. First movie did a very good job being very entertaining distracting ploy of bright colors, animated cute characters and appeals to some nostalgic part of me. Yeah sure I'd like to have more screentime with Mario's family and Brooklyn (my favorite part of the first movie), but Mario has never been narrative focused even if the movie grounded him more than usual. I might get torched for this opinion, but I hope they keep being unserious with the plot and jump right into the galaxy portion really quick (and hopefully Mario has plenty of interaction with Luigi this time around) like how Mario enters Mushroom Kingdom really fast in the first movie. I'm hoping I get to see some Mario Party referenced lol, even if it's just soundtrack; what if we get Space Land from Mario Party 2 or Space Dream from Mario Party 5 or the space duel minigame theme from Mario Party 6 snuck in there?
