It's not even close really. And I'm not acting like the innocent member of the Galaxy fanbase, because I AM wholeheartedly an obnoxious Galaxy fan with a touch of self-awareness to know that we're collectively the most annoying group out of the 3D Mario games.

Common qualities of the average Galaxy fan (me included):
  • Still speculates about Galaxy 3 in 2025
  • Bought Galaxy a second time on 3D All-Stars, and a THIRD time in the recent Galaxy bundle
  • Thinks the September 12th Direct was one of the best in recent memory
  • Will say 70 dollars for the Galaxy remasters is crazy, but unironically bought it joyfully
  • Has no problem with the Mario Movie sequel skipping Super Mario World
  • Will say Galaxy 1 has the best story in Nintendo video games, and in some cases all video games
  • Rosalina is their favorite Mario character
  • Can't stand Miyamoto's view on story in games
  • Makes fun of Sunshine fans
  • Gets pissed when someone doesn't care for the storybook lore
  • Probably already pre-ordered the physical release of Rosalina's Storybook
  • Probably believed all the fake leaks of the Galaxy movie when they first dropped
  • Probably mains Rosalina in every game she's available in
IF IM FORGETTIN ANY PLEASE ADD

I am guilty of many of those points. Like goodness, we've been getting fed good lately by Nintendo y'all. We have the Mario Movie sequel being all about our game, we have a remasters collection, new amiibo, physical storybook, and yet we're STILL finding reasons to complain because it's never gonna be enough if we don't get Galaxy 3, meanwhile the poor Sunshine fans haven't received any acknowledgement.

Obnoxiousness of 3D Mario fanbases listed:
  1. Galaxy fans
  2. Odyssey fans
  3. 3D World fans
  4. Sunshine fans
  5. Mario 64 fans
THAT BEING SAID, WE'RE GETTING GALAXY 3, I STILL BELIEVE YEAHHHHH!

I have some of these things. I don't have the making fun of Sunshine fans, Rosalina is not my favorite character (though she's in the top 10 still *winks*), I am not a Rosalina main (I'm a Luigi main for life), not upset when Miyamoto said that story doesn't matter, and I did not buy galaxy three times. I only bought it once. The first time I played it was the 3d all stars version but I was borrowing it. I bought the Wii version because it was cheaper. I got Galaxy 2 as a standalone. I also think the 70 dollar price tag makes sense for the bundle and the 40 price individually also makes sense. But I am still a HUGE, I mean, GINORMOUS, Mario Galaxy fan!
 
I don't understand why a lot of these characteristics are considered annoying by you.

All I'll say here is that it's served me well to focus on conversations where people share the joy of the favorite Mario games together instead of pointlessly arguing over small details to win arguments about the best game.
 
Well at least I am an og classic Mario fan that doesn't display that toxic behavior.

This is somewhat of a joke. Not meant to be taken too seriously. And like I said, I'm guilty of it, so couldn't point fingers if I wanted.

Professional real life grass toucher here. It really depends on the type of grass you are talking about, and how well maintained they are, and the climate you are walking on. Obviously, lawn owners that don't take care of their grass by not watering it and cutting it will not release any coins when stepped on, because the grass may as well blend with the dirt at that point, being all grayed out and dull, dead. On the other hand, grass that has been mowed until it is flat likely will not release any coins either, considering that coins cannot hide in grass that flat. Demonstrated in that screenshot above, you can tell the areas where the grass has been mowed vs areas where it hasn't. A perfect amount of grass would be grass that hits the sweet spot of letting it grow a bit, enough for the leaves to tickle your ankles as you walk through it, but it has to be specific varieties of grass as pictured, plus plants that are clearly bushies like dandelions and agapanthus don't really count as grass too!

Overgrown lawns also do not yield coins because at that point, it's too difficult to walk through plus it's not ideal to walk through regardless, you don't know what's hiding in there, and it probably isn't even coins.

Also, astroturf has a 100% chance to not release any coins at all. It's fake grass, and although it's fun to walk across those with a satisfying crunch it's bad for the environment to boot, so don't use them for your home.

Oh by the way, I'm a professional grass toucher, but that doesn't mean I can properly id them, as much as I like walking across Zoysia grass.

I would prefer the next 3D Mario to be Galaxy 3, but it doesn't really matter a whole lot, because I know I'm still gonna buy it.

Nah. 3D Land fans are too nonexistent to hate on for any apparent obnoxiousness.
 
I removed my original comments although I was actually wrong. I'm not a fan of 3-D land, I am more of a classic Mario Kid
