It looks like the Mario Bros. stumbled on Donkey Kong Island. The environment looks very much in home for Donkey Kong games.

Casual Mario time!

With that said, I am not sure what Daisy's outfit is based on, though I can't help but feel it's similar to one of our members' Daisy-based persona character.

I strongly believe that the developers has pondered over putting Mario in a Yoshi suit, because it's one of the most obvious ideas out there! I mean, there's concept art, but so far there's no official version of Mario wearing a Yoshi costume, so some fan art will do:

Yoshi haters rejoice he has disappeared mysteriously from our database while Mario is wearing green hoodies.

If you hadn't told me I wouldn't have even known that was a piece of Mario fan art.

Almost as if that game is both visually and tonally out of place.

Too bad he can’t kick soccer balls...

Then again, Boo is in there sooooo...

I would call strikers neither soccer or football.

It's some kind of hybrid thing where everybody tries to kill everybody while pretending there is a sport going on.

It's not that far off the mark given what Mario Volleyball was going to be like.

This is nifty.

If I could add to this: this is not a hack. In fact, the process is basically adding the Donkey Kong sprites the animator designed and replacing the original sprites with those that he animated into a video. This is what he has to say about this: "This is not a hack. I took footage of Donkey Kong Country, edited DK out with After Effects, and edited in the sprites I made in Maya". That's why it might look a little off.

I really liked the little touches with this, like how the DK looked verbatim to the poses found in Donkey Kong (DK).

I wanted to see the game over screen how it looked compared to this:

Even if the music kinda creeps me out.

EDIT:
Looking through the past thread, I didn't realise the Strikers style has been done before...

I wish I can make Baby Mario and Baby Luigi fan art in the Strikers style. Wonder what the techniques are.

That's a neat art style. Here's another villain translated into it:

I presume the character, which is supposed to be Saori Kido of Saint Seiya (going by this artist's Deviant Art comment), is kidnapped often?
