  • Ugh, this is horrible. The internet stopped working and I have no idea why. The only reason I'm able to use MarioBoards is because I have wireless on my phone, but I can't use YouTube or discord, and no wifi on me computer. It's been nearly a day and it's still not working ;_;
Every time I see you I get that song in my head

Weirdly enough, I have the opposite: I can't think of it whenever I see him.

    its bob-omb battlefield for me
I watched Markiplier play the uncle who works for Nintendo last night.
It's not super scary or anything, surprisingly, and it's a kind of wholesome story about addiction and helping out your friends in their times of need.
Why does it seem like I can't do anything right on here
I always seem to do something wrong, get called out on it and/or no further interest is shown in my project, leaving it to die.

And then the one time something is seen through like Galactic Mafia, I screw up majorly... Twice.

Or it does from inactivity in the case of my rps

This is more than the miscount.
It's like, nearly everything I do on here.
The rps, mafia, awards game attempts, mindless junk threads...

To be blunt, one of the major problems you have is that you tend not to think things through and you're not committed to a single idea: you have a lot of good ideas and concepts for, say, awards and types of RPs, but the machine gun approach to ideas is what leads to them being half-baked and ultimately have an improvised, cobbled-together feel. For example, you don't stick with a singular roleplay thread, you tend to throw out roleplay concept after roleplay concept, and a big reason I don't post in many roleplays is because they're a huge investment for me to sink into. I can't speak for anyone else, but this is just how I personally feel: I'd only make a roleplay only if I have a strong idea for it and I spent time thinking how it would turn out, how would I be dedicated to it, etc., and I simply don't have the drive and energy to do so. I haven't posed in the Mushroom City Car Wash for a while simply because I realize it's a major timesink.

I can say that your machine gun approach not thinking things through somewhat applies to your latest blunder in your Lost in Space Mafia. I'm not sure exactly how you made that mistake (as well as not giving out the role to FWD immediately when he became a replacement), but I can only guess that it was a hasty move that was done without double checking beforehand, and I can only guess you have inexperience hosting mafias. Of course, my assumption could be wrong, but that's how your mistake reads as.

My advice is, read what you are called out on. Actually take what people are saying to you at heart. Your Awards topics for example have a lot of feedback on them, parse through them again, and analyze why your ideas have a common trend of harsh criticism. In your Marioboards Retro Video Game Tourney, your idea was criticized for being far too broad and not being focused. In addition, don't be afraid to ask people around about your ideas before actually going through with them; a lot of Awards tournaments for example receive a bunch of discussion and feedback beforehand with the community before a topic gets made dedicated to it.
What would you consider to be the "eras" of mario games?
    Goombuigi
    Goombuigi
    - Arcade era (from Donkey Kong in 1981 to Wrecking Crew in 1985)
    - Classic era (from Super Mario Bros. in 1985 to Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island in 1995)
    - Open-world era (from Super Mario 64 in 1996 to Super Mario 64 DS in 2004)
    - "New" era (from New Super Mario Bros. in 2006 to Super Mario 3D World in 2013)
    - Experimental era (from Super Mario Maker in 2015 to the present)
    Freddie Freaker
    Freddie Freaker
Classic Era (Super Mario Bros. to Super Mario 64)
Dreamcast Era (Super Mario 64 to Super Mario Galaxy 2)
Boost Era (New Super Mario Bros. to Super Mario Run)
Modern Era (Super Mario Maker onwards)

I think there can be considered a fair bit of overlap between eras (e.g. Mario 64 is 3D yet retains Mario's classic design, while sunshine completely ditches that most other remaining element of the classic era).

jokes aside I think it's pretty silly to try and put things into eras.
    THE END
    THE END
Classic Era: (Super Mario Bros. to Super Mario World)
Golden Era: (Super Mario 64 to Super Mario Galaxy 2)
Downfall Era: (Paper Mario: Sticker Star to Paper Mario: Color Splash)
Expansion Era: (Super Mario Run - Present)
So this is weird... I can't access the email I was using for this account anymore. I guess it was blocked or something? Is there a way to change my email on here so I can still get my poll results?

I got an idea for an awards thing but I'm worried after like 4 or 5 failures it's just going to be embarrassing to post something else in that board.
    Lee Chaolan
    Lee Chaolan
It depends on how much thought and effort you've put into the idea. Have you thought about all of the possibilities? Is it easy to understand? How much of a time commitment will it be? Will enough people be interested in playing? If something doesn't work, will you work on improving it or just abandon it for the next project?

Obviously I don't know what your new idea is, but you've got one or two decent ideas for an awards tournament already, including sign ups for some of them, and tbh I think I'd rather see you work on fixing them instead of moving to yet another new idea. If you aren't able to commit to the tournament, no one will want to commit to it by signing up either.
I've pretty much never played a sonic game
Except for the sonic mobile game which doesn't count

All of the Classic Sonic games from the Classic era are actual classics man.

You can decide what I have for breakfast/lunch today!

I know that awards are over, but for future reference, don't do or encourage this. It just makes Anton's job harder, which isn't funny.
Who are the famous early boards members?
I don't know much about the pre-2010 MarioBoards days.

What determines if a thread is stickied?
Besides rule threads and such, I'd guess high post count, but in, say, forum games, there are threads with more or equal to the amount of posts as some stickied threads.

I think sticky threads are threads that were either made recently or are very old and is very popular.

sticky threads are very much case by case, frankly

it boils down to "what does the mod team think is the best set of threads to have easily and instantly accessible for this particular board"
    Hey, mods?
I need my normal username to show up next to my pronouns like everyone else does.

I think you need to have an account on the wiki for that, since the names link to the users' wiki accounts. I'm not entirely sure though.

yeah ,it works entirely based off that
@Huzzah! Behold Blathers! Can you please change the title of the bosses elimination thread from Mario & Luigi Games from Save a Character: Mario RPG Bosses to Save a Character: Mario and Luigi Bosses? It's not good to say "Mario RPG Bosses" if there aren't any bosses from SMRPG or the Paper Mario games on it.
Ok, who's interested in watching a Tomodachi Life stream tommorow on twitch?

Is it across all accounts? You could try making a backup account for twitch (that's what I did since it's blocked on mine too) as it could be the previous admin blocking it on your account.
Or you could always try using a phone, I'd you have one? Idk how old you are but I'm gonna assume you're at least my age which is 14/15.
