Mario Series Obscure and Minor Characters Appreciation Thread

Here's a thread where you can bring awareness to the lesser known characters from the world of Mario. Post a picture of them and write a little bit about what you like about them or why you think they're interesting.

As a vague and flexible rule of thumb, I would consider any character that you feel would be less recognizable than Toadsworth to be a good candidate for this thread, but the more obscure the better! Also, this thread is about characters specifically and not obscure species or enemy types, even though there's a lot of those too! A character with an unknown name or the same name as it's species is allowed though, as that happens a lot.

Fun fact: You may have heard that among Star Wars fans, obscure characters that fans get excited about but are unknown or forgettable to a casual viewer are affectionately called Glup Shittos, this comes from a social media post poking fun at the prominence of obscure characters and the bizarre naming conventions of the series. I considered calling this the Mario Series Glup Shitto Appreciation Thread, but I decided not to because the term might be confusing to people browsing the forum who didn't know the reference.

Aw heck yeah Glub Shitto Mario characters alright.
For me there are several that Nintendo has just forgotten about.
Like remember Popple? Yeah the Shadow theif! Where was he in brothership? We need our devious theif back!
Also what about some of the teams you face off in the Glitz Pitt? Some of them make sense but what's the story with the Mind Bogglers? Also how about the Destructors? What's there story?
Also still going on the RPG train here, what was the deal with Bundit & Raspberry? Like living cake is WEIRD even for the Mario world, also what about Jr Troopa? Bro made a cameo in TTYD and hasn't been seen in YEARS, what happend to him? Is he still going after Mario all this time or what!?

honestly as far as nintendo is concerned even the most popular rpg characters are "glup shittos" as strongly as i wish they weren't.

speaking of which, that specific naming convention has even been used a couple times in the mario series, with Rip Cheato and Chet Rippo from Paper Mario. Bring those doofuses back.

Whilst they have appeared recently and in a very notable Mario media to boot, thus might not be quite obscure, I would like to see Mario's family more. They seem like a fun bunch that can be invited for a party (like a *ahem* Mario Party) at least once.

Speaking of Mario Party, I think that if there were one original character who should return as a mainstay in the series, it would be Tumble.

His design feels like he's born for the role of being in Mario Party. While I get that certain characters like Kamek already naturally lend themselves to the role of a host, I think an original character that act as a series regular would help Mario Party to develop a bit more identity, which I felt is something it lacked compared to other series like a Mario RPG (even Mario & Luigi have Starlow, and that's just but one single aspect of its strong identity that include the artstyle and musical style).

Since I edit the List of characters article a lot, I know a lot of obscure characters, so this probably won't be my last post in this thread.

The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! has a lot of characters, and some of them are pretty strange (such as The Old Psychic Lady with the Evil Eye Who Reads Fortunes and Knows Everything Before It Happens, which earns the award for longest character name in the Mario universe). But I would like to nominate George Washingtoad because… well… just look at him. He comes from the episode "The Koopas are Coming! The Koopas are Coming!", which isn't even the only episode in the show about America's independence, because there was a live-action segment called "George Washington Slept Here" that features the actual George Washington.

This is Dr. Pie-rate, who is a pie who is also a pirate and (allegedly) a doctor, but we can't confirm that he has any experience in medical arts, hence he doesn't have the doctor category on his page.

He appears in a segment of Ask Izzy, which was a series of segments on The Play Nintendo Show that featured a Piranha Plant answering questions from the comment section. All he does is lock a sock puppet named Frizzy in a cage and makes a Star Wars reference. If Dr. Pie-rate is for some insane reason revealed to be the main antagonist of the third Mario movie, I will genuinely flip out.

This is the second time anyone on this forum has brought up King Ka-Thunk this year. I post about King Ka-Thunk on January 16 on an annual basis, so everyone will remember who he is.
