Got an idea for a Mario, Donkey Kong, Yoshi, Wario or any other Mario related game that you're absolutely DYING for Nintendo to do? Drop them here, and let's all geek out with our ideas!

Well people are gonna talk about roster ideas and whatnot so lemme be the first to say Baby Mario should be playable in more games as well as Metal Mario.

I can also smell Paper Mario related suggestions too so lemme say that Paper Mario should talk in his games because otherwise he's just sitting there and reacting to things. Hell, make Mario talk. Nintendo has shown through those "Mario reads letters out loud" videos from like 2017 that they'll let him talk, and this movie he's going to have full lines, so it's not a particularly strict IP restriction but idk maybe it is in the games.... But that IP restriction shouldn't be a thing.

I want a musou Mario game. Give me a badass game with a large variety of multiple playable characters, with special moves, mowing down hordes of a large variety of enemies. You can KO like a bunch of Mario enemies or friendly Mario characters such as the Toad species dressed in specialized attire for the game. If we can have Mario team up with Rabbids and use blasters to wipe out enemy Rabbids, this isn't too much of a far-fetched idea. Make characters like Waluigi badass like he uses a whip from Mario Strikers Charged, make utterly ridiculous characters playable such as the babies (if they can have the likes of Agitha and Tingle playable in Hyrule Warriors, then playable Baby Mario and Baby Luigi is absolutely in the equation). Plus, there's always multiplayer in these titles, which is always fun. I want over-the-top Mario characters with crazy movesets.

I want a new Mario RPG, but it's not a traditional turn-based JRPG and it's not another entry in the Paper Mario nor Mario & Luigi series. Make it more similar to WRPGs like Diablo or Torchlight, make Mario characters have a character class where they beat up enemies and they drop a huge amount of varied loot in a real-time environment. You can tell a story...or not...with these types of entries.

Make a Mario RTS game. I've stated this in another thread, but you can have much more variety than the Bowser RTS I've occasionally seen thrown around, such as Kremling Krew, Kongs, and the Mushroom Kingdom as additional races on top of the Koopa Troop.

What I want most? A game starring the baby characters. Give characters like Baby Daisy and Baby Rosalina a purpose. Make a Mystery Dungeon title starring them; if Chocobo Mystery Dungeon can be a thing, then the Yoshi's Island babies + Baby Rosalina and Baby Daisy as party members would be very viable. Get an original villain just so Baby Bowser can be playable. Have something ridiculously cutesy but also very combat heavy and the like, I love that juxtaposition.

LEGO Mario should get a traditional set, but also have a Traveler's Tales developed LEGO Mario game introduced alongside that. LEGO games have a ton of playable characters so there's a bunch of playable character opportunties but I primarily want LEGO Baby Mario and LEGO Baby Luigi playable.

A spinoff game with a huge, expansive roster that aims to bring together the extended Mario universe, including characters from the RPGs, the Wario and DK series, Luigi's Mansion, the early Mario Party games, etc. I feel like Kart is a good spinoff for that since characters don't need to have unique mechanics associated with them so having more should be less of an issue. But I'll take this with any type of game, I just want it in general.

The closest we've come to what I have in mind is Super Sluggers, which had more DK characters than most spinoffs as well as rare picks like Toadsworth, but it still didn't touch the likes of Paper Mario or characters from Wario's games (some symbolism from Wario's games was there, but no characters). That was a step in the right direction but sadly they only went backwards from there. We've gotten little teases of RPG stuff in early Mario Party games and SM64DS, but it was gone as quickly as it came. None of the original Mario Party hosts came back either despite having easily reusable 3D models.

Mario is such an expansive IP, I just want Nintendo to actually use more of it, especially in their games with ensemble rosters which are prime material to fill it with memorable characters currently collecting dust on the shelf.

Since I was the one who came up with this thread, I suppose I might as well share some of my own ideas.

So, you remember those Koopa's Revenge Flash games where the bad guys are the good guys and the good guys are the bad guys? Well, this idea is kinda like that. This game is a New Super Mario Bros. style game starring the Koopalings as the main protagonists. The plot of the game is that Mario and the gang have captured Bowser and a bunch of his minions and are holding them captive across eight lands, so the Koopalings set out to rescue them. Each Koopaling has their own unique abilities and their own unique special moves which they can use to combat enemies with. Each world holds one or more towers and one castle. In each tower and castle, you have to fight one of the main Mario characters (Toad for World 1, Waluigi for World 2, and so on). Upon defeating them in the castle, you rescue one of Bowser's minions. Upon defeating Mario, the final boss of the game, you rescue Bowser, and after that, you beat the game, and the credits sequence shows Bowser and the Koopalings parading through the eight lands that the game took place in until they eventually return to Bowser's castle.

I haven't fully fleshed out this idea yet, but any input on how I could elaborate on this idea is welcome.

For years, I've pondered what a 3D game starring Ashley would be like. The resulting monstrosity is of course widly brand-unfriendly, probably terrible and the very concept of Ashley having her own game is ponderous... but what the hell.

The idea: A 3D Action game that brings the execution depth and replayability of action games like Devil May Cry to shooting-focused gameplay. The combat is lock-based, allowing for fast-paced movement, fast moving and resiliant enemies and tactical use of the player character's abilities. By collecting mana from destroying items and enemies, the characters can unleash special attacks. There is a currency system allowing to upgrade the characters' attribute and unlock new abilities. Action game-style grading system rewards quick and efficient clearing of checkpints with minimal damage taken.

There are two characters:

Ashley (in her Crazy Galaxy incarnation, natch): Ashley shoots purple magic blasts from her hands. Each trigger button is matched to her respective hand, allowing for shooting based puzzles (like enemies that require firing in a rythmic patterns, or "simon says" minigames where you have to quickly alternate left/right shots in sequence). When close to enemies, she can bring up her guitar for simple melee-based combos.

Special abilities: Magical shield, telekinesis (grab one enemy and throw them with increasing mana costs depending on how big the enemy is), pyrokinesis.

Claudia (because natch): Plays like a more typical TPS character. Can dual-wield a variety of weapons including peanut popguns, bullet bill launcher and a melon seed LMG and wallrun. Can only weakly shove enemies out of the way but can unlock bayonets for "executing" enemies when specific conditions are met.

Special abilities: Bullet time, "mark" multiple human-sized enemies in a single sequence and one-hit kill them (think the Smart Pistol in Titanfall or the "mark and execute" mechanic in the newer Splinter Cell games), explosive bullets, curving bullets to get enemies hiding behind walls or partially-obstructed (think Wanted: Weapons of Fate).

The plot: Wario does Something Bad and Ashley and Claudia go on a quest to ruin his operation, supported by the Crazy Galaxy girls and WarioWare characters.

They are opposed by a private security firm led by Waluigi and made up of

-The green jester dude in Wario World (I forgot his name)
-Sarissa from SNES Wario Wood's (as a magical rival to Ashley)
-Tatanga (using a battle armor ressembling his muscular Valiant Comics-incarnation)
-Mad (NES Wario's woods, can shapeshift between a normal human body and her mermaid self)

Yeah I didn't really think up much for that part.

To continue on my idea that Baby Mario and Baby Luigi should be in more games....

Baby Mario and Baby Luigi would be perfect player 3 and player 4 folks for multiplayer Mario platforming, I mean come on. You can have girls AND younger kids on board too as girls love cute babies and kids love playing as kids and the grownups playing Mario and Luigi can like help guide Baby Mario and Baby Luigi players through the level, or Baby Mario can curbstomp Luigi into a pit. Just looking at Mario and Luigi platform with Baby Mario and Baby Luigi makes it feel more... close-knit than Toads.

My sister's mod for New Super Mario Bros. Wii totally shows it's possible, what a shame even with modding constraints you actually have better results than official output.
