Sorry, I'm no Cranky fan but I don't think he shouldn't be playable either. It's just something going with flow like Peach playable last time.

Judging from SM3DW, I'd like to see two girls playable, but I'm not sure Tiny would be with her sister, or Candy would make her playable debut (at least a damsel in distress I hope), or Pauline.... So unfortunately a guy like Funky would be very possible, or maybe a character more random than Rosalina :P. Only King K. Rool can make me preorder this game.

To me Kiddy's personality and appearance aren't strong enough. DKC3 just seemed to relunctantly create new characters in order to follow previous titles. I'm not sure he should return or not if he is regarded as one-time character.
 
He'd be interesting to see, too, though I kinda wish he was in the last game so that we'd know what he thought of the Tikis.
 
If Lanky is made playable, it would be the first time two Kongs Whose names rhymed were playable. Kiddy and Diddy cant count they were never playable together.
 
Do you think he might be the possible fifth playable character for this game? I think it would be pretty cool, although they might not add him as playable because only DK is playable in Single Player, and it would be weird to see Funky mount DK like the other lightweight sidekick kongs.
