All I know is that I rather play for fun then try to live my days on SSB playing on the most boring stage with the most boring settings just to fight someone that can't handle the other 90% of the game because of the chance that they won't get the advantage and that - oh no - someone else will have a slight edge to them.

Just because something is boring to you, doesn't mean it is to others and vice versa. I think it's unreasonable to judge people that play differently harshly simply because they play differently. Even more so if you are judging it without actually taking a look at and understanding what the competitive players are like and how/why they play the game. Same can be said for the competitive players.

Anyway, what I'm trying to say is people should bitch less.

yeah people think competitive gameplay is boring

little do they know the world doesnt revolve around them

i love competitive gameplay to be honest with you.

Fought against a lot of competitive players via kof98, shit was awesome.

I play competitive sometimes, but most of the time I play with items. Items provide that party game that some people look for.

As a competitive player...

You know, the definition of having fun in Smash Bros is subjective; some people prefer items off so as to test their abilities with characters and who's the better smasher without interference; others prefer to have a party and enjoy having the insanity with items. There's nothing wrong with either style.

To be fair though, you WILL have to learn how to play with items. There's characters who can produce items like Peach (Turnips/Beam Sword/Bob-Omb/Mr. Saturn), Link/Toon Link (Bombs), Diddy Kong (Banana Peels), etc. It's important to know what these characters are capable of doing with their items, and you'll have to adapt. However, if you play with the items enough, you can make tricks of your own and throw them off when they're against them. The characters who can produce items generally only know what they're capable of doing with their items, but not when their opponent has control of them.

Also Sakurai himself said that the point of Smash Bros. "isn't to feel remorseful over your loss, but rather, to praise your opponent for putting up a good fight".

Basically just please respect each other's playstyle; items or no items, it's up to YOU to decide your playstyle and in the end, you should be having fun!

And for the record even though I'm competitive and prefer no items, I'm cool with items on as well. :)

And as for the stages, like I said earlier, I don't mind the simple stages (like Battlefield, Final Destination, etc.), but I tend to be more open-minded as long as the stage isn't more of a hazard than the opponents. So stages that add a little more variety or have gimmicks that aren't completely annoying/game-breaking (such as Delfino Plaza and its water and the moving platform, Pokemon Stadium and its transformations, Green Greens and the apples and the bomb blocks, Halberd with the moving platform and the claws/bombs/lasers, etc.) are also good for me.

I think Skyloft would probably end up being my favorite stage of SSB4; reminds me of Delfino/Halberd of how it travels around the stage. =P

Dedede confirmed

Hopefully his final smash is eating his arm this time around

i think this is the first veteran whose model has a very noticable difference in design to me

screen-9.jpg

but he still has some of the best expressions lol

Good, Dedede was one of my favorites from Brawl. Now I just wait for Ness and Lucas.

His model is definitely more vibrant than his Brawl model. Love his expressions too.

Maybe Dedede's Final Smash could be Masked Dedede.

Has anyone been getting the feeling that Game Freak is being very strict? I mean, we got nothing to represent the release of Pokemon X/Y, and yet Zelda and Dedede were confirmed to honor their upcoming game releases.

Well, maybe.

I don't know why there has been little on Pokemon, but we did get Xerneas confirmed as a Pokeball Pokemon, which is at least something...

Also, lol, all the memes.

all i hope is that meta knight's facial expressions are that glorious

(if he's in)

Well, this is expected. Now for Meta Knight...

Hate to interrupt all the Dededeing but Nintendo's Facebook just posted a crapton of new Zelda screens.
