Also, using your roster, Rosalina is partners with Boo. Instead of Kongs, get Shy Guy and Luma.

Why not? Mario Tennis 64 did just that and I was completely fine with it. Same with Mario Hoops 3-on-3.
 
Paratroopa just needs a partner for the CPU, I guess.
 
The new game modes look like fun, but I'm still more interested in what kind of characters will be playable in this game.
 
I'll partner the roster so far:

Mario & Luigi

Peach & Daisy

Donkey Kong & Diddy Kong

Yoshi & Boo (so far it looks like it)

Wario & Waluigi (I hope they are the stars of the intro again)

Bowser & Bowser Jr.

Still no sign of Toad or Koopa :(.
 
Dang, Yoshi gets the oddest partners I've seen.

Mii's have been in every Mario spinoff since Mario Kart Wii. The only game they have not been playable in a spin off after that is Mario Party 9.

Their there for casual players who want to experience playing as themselves in a mario game.

So get over it :P There their for that added option for those who won't get shitty at the sight of them.
 
I hate Miis. They're ridiculous, and their voice is extremely annoying... I hope they disappear soon. And I wish Nintendo stopped trying to merge them with the Mario Universe. They just don't mix.

I think the issue LGM has is not so much the presence of the Miis themselves but the fact that their inclusion causes the exclusion of Mario series characters that do not appear as often as other, more notable characters (e.g. Waluigi).
 
I'm now starting to wonder who else may be present as playables. So far...

Note: I'm just guessing the character types below.

Mario - All-Around
Luigi - All-Around
Yoshi - All-Around
Peach - Technique
Daisy - Technique
Diddy Kong - Speedy
Bowser Jr. - Speedy
Donkey Kong - Power
Wario - Power
Bowser - Power
Boo - Tricky
Waluigi - Defense
Mii - All-Around

I might just be guessing, but if unlockables are considered, then maybe...

Tiny Kong - Technique
Dixie Kong - Speedy
Dry Bones - Tricky
Rosalina - Tricky
Wiggler - Defense
Blooper - Defense

Odds are though, this may not be the case.
