Yesterday I tried to get my dad to apologize for stewing in anger and then boiling over at me in late-ish March because I had calmly told him not to double-dip in the cottage cheese earlier that day, but he wouldn't make amends and said he still considered it an "asshole move" for me to even levelheadedly point out not to double-dip just because I've made mistakes before too.
Having a lot of triggers happens, but when you blow up over someone requesting basic courtesy from you and then treat that as an excuse and not just a reason for your behavior and try to use that to not make amends for doing so, that is on you.
