Nintendo Direct Thread (Do NOT post here unless one is announced)

Re: Nintendo Direct Thread My impressions: Slippy's uncle Grippy deserves to be playable in the next Smash Bros. game. Kirby with mechs could easily be GOTY. Marth in Monster Hunter was very unexpected, and neat. Extremely apprehensive about Colour Splash. I remember hearing the rumours of...

    Unpopular opinions with video games

Sounds like the "every RPG ever" syndrome to me. :P With some exceptions.

Do you wonder what splatoon would be like had it remained a Mario game?

Wouldn't a Delfino Plaza map for this game be great? That was one of the first things I thought when I watched the trailer during E3 2014.

What game did you last play?!?!?!?

After somewhat of an absence from them, I have been getting back into Mario games. Most of my gaming time this week was spent 100%ing Mario 64 for the first time (took me long enough!). The last game I played was Mario & Wario on my modded SNES. :mario:

Sure do. Notice how the sticky note is forwards, and the game box is backwards. It's magic. :dk:

    Your favourite covers

Very nice. PS1 longboxes are f--kin cool. Here's another favorite of mine.

    Your favourite covers

Thanks for the info. Having grown up accustomed to the rather uninspired cover Wipeout (in both its N64 and PS versions) had in its North American incarnation, I had no idea the PAL version used this badassery:

    Your favourite covers

I've never played a single Psygnosis game, but what I've seen of their graphic design is wonderful. Xenoblade's alt cover is very nice.

    Danny Wells died

I have not frequented this forum in quite some time (hello from 2008), but I was recently informed that Danny died and had to pop in to show my respect. His was a great portrayal and on some cosmic level, it's sad to see him go just as the Year of Luigi comes to a close. Goodnight sweet prince...

    Lou Albano is dead :'(

I just now saw this on the main page and it shocked me. That guy was the definitive non-Martinet Mario, the quintessence of a simpler era in mass-market videogaming. Rest in peace, d00de - until next time, Do the Mario.

What's the way you play Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door?

When I first played TTYD, I avoided most of the enemies; then on my second replay, I fought 'em all (which is now my standard rule for initial playthroughs in RPGs); then on my third, I just, ya know, fought some and didn't fight others. And I do think I tried to win a few battles with my feet...

    Mario's got some extra baggage.
