The Official "I'm going away/coming back!" Thread

Looks like it's time for me to attempt yet another retirement. You probably don't believe me at this point, which is understandable since I've attempted to retire so many times in the past, but this time I've got high hopes for it. I think my main problem is that I've always said that I'll attempt to visit once or twice, and then found myself staying longer than I had hoped for, so I won't be attempting to return.

Uni is starting in a matter of weeks and this place just takes up too much of my time, plus, like dippy, I've lost any enjoyment I've had in this place. The best thing I can say is that a lot of you are really nice, kind and genuine people who really make my day when I speak to you, but the sun has officially set on my day being part of this community.

Thank you very much for the good times. I won't be seeing you guys around. ;)

>Neptune, Star, Dippy, GBAToad and Packy all leaving at the same time

why even bother anymore

well, goodbye, enjoy the rest of your lives, and best of luck to everyone!

Farewell, GBA, Packy, Dippy, Neptune, you are all huge parts of this community and it really sucks to see you guys go, but I understand why you are leaving. And I hope everything goes well for you, Star.

I think it's a good time for me to say this now, too, but my activity here will drop off significantly, if it hasn't been already. I probably won't be leaving permanently, but I've kind of been losing interest in this site in general lately, and especially since school starts soon I think this will probably be best for me. I'll check in once and a while, but I won't be around nearly as often.

With no overly detailed explanations or anything, I've been dealing with a lot of stress and anxiety over the past two months and posting on this forum has played a large part in that, and it's no one's fault but my own, so I need to distance myself from here before it gets any worse and straighten my life out for good.
Like, I won't presume I know what's going on or what the big picture is, but over time there have been an alarming number of people saying something to the effect of "This place in particular is screwing up my life in some way, I need to get away from here and only here". If there is some element of this community that drives people to restlessness and discomfort, that's something we need to fix.
i was wondering the same thing to be honest, since if there's some sort of systemic problem here i'm completely unaware of it

I'm joining the leaving club but only for a week. I leave for Maine tomorrow and I come back on the 7th.

I think it's because forums (in a similar vein to social media) can be addictive and distracting. This place is good to make friends and socialise but if real life suffers from too much use then yeah, it becomes a problem.

Tbh now that the ZTD talk has mostly died off I'm not sure what else to do here. Thinking of sticking around for AA6 talk but most attorney people here seem to have left or are inactive. :<

I... I guess that makes sense?

I dunno, I always figured part of the advantage of forums (as opposed to something like IRC) is that you can only show up every once in awhile and still be able to contribute.

Not sure about the IRC comparison because I've never been a big IRC user. I'm thinking more along the lines of getting a buzz when you see someone reply to your comment, like your post or you've gotten a new PM so you keep coming back for that rush.

You look at your 4 digit tag under your name and then that's what people can use to find you. For example, I'm MetaKnight#5690

okay i realize i have no idea how the discord friending system works so if someone could help me before i leave that would be gr8
you go into the friends menu and then you input the user you want to add's username and tag number. the easier option would probably be to just share yours so others can add you. it would be your username and the #[4 numbers] below it, ex. Username#2016

edit: ninja'd by mk but yeah

also aaaaa good like irl to the seven (or just all if that's over or under how many people are planning to leave or have already left) of you who are leaving! this place just won't be the same without you guys.

tbh I'm genuinely scared of checking new replies to this thread rn
My sentiments exactly LB.
Packy, GBA, Neptune, Dippy, and Stargazing??? Nooo...we're losing people so fast.

*muffled* Hi, I'm home!

[me=Roy]walks through the wall.[/me]

How the crap did that happen? Anyway, I got home from Maine about two hours ago, which means more activity.

Buuut I start school on the 12th so I'm going to be about 75% less active. I'll still on at night though.

I'm back home from my first day, and I'm taking this moment to officially send myself off for a while. i'll be back during Christmas Break and Spring Break (and obviously summer), but that's it. Remember I'm still on everything I mentioned and you can use those to reach me. My main modes of contact as of now are Skype and Discord.

I wish you all luck with your school lives, work lives, home lives, Love Live! and anything else you may be doing.

Cheers, Stargazing.
