What game did you last play?!?!?!?

Crash N.Sane Trilogy (Nintendo Switch)

First time experiencing Crash Bandicoot 1, the absents of certain moves introduced in later Crash games like the slide or body slam for example feels weird adjusting to. CURSE YOU, MUSCLE MEMORY!

Metroid Prime 2: Echoes (Nintendo Game Cube)

Taking a short break after delivering the coup de grace to the Alpha Blogg.

Ever Oasis

I've now almost finished the story, and I have about 12 residents remaining to gather in my oasis before I've got everyone

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Imagine ever admitting that you play Mii Swordfighter. Most people just play lame characters online, it's becoming pretty boring knowing that 2/3 of my matches are just going to be point whores that are using degen tactics combined with their shitty connection. Winning doesn't feel good against them, it just feels like I wasted my time. Not even swapping characters myself for variety is making me enjoy it. I don't think I want to play smash anymore, I need to burn this cartridge now and never play multiplayer games again.

Etrian Odyssey Nexus

I fought the sub-dungeon boss, he was new. He was a lot like the last boss where he nailed you with ailments but he also had poison that was actually pretty hard to deal with for my team. I landed paralysis during the last third of its health and that let me go nuts with my skills without worry. These ailment fights really drive home that I have no defense against them but War Magus does get Barrier later even if it's nerfed. I really appreciate that ailments are potent both ways.

The next labyrinth is Petal Bridge, this is one of my favourites.

A week or so ago I went to a small video game tournament hosted by a business club. They only had Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Mario Kart Wii.

I lost in the first round of Smash, but I was there for MKW.

They only had Wii Wheels and Nunchucks. No GCN, no Classic, no Pro. I still won the tournament thanks to all the years I was an automatic wheel scrub. I also side-sniped an opponent with a green shell while she had triple bananas out. I'm pretty sure I was the one with the most MKW experience there.

Mutant Mudds Deluxe via Mutant Mudds Collection (Switch)

I actually played most of the game before, so it was pretty familiar to me. I am at the point where I have to clear all the CGA-inspired stages, which are some of the more challenging stages. I love that this game has Checkpoints because the original lacked them. I felt that at this point I can't live without them (you can toggle them).

Splatoon 2

I wanted to build up a max Main Power Up set gear, but I only managed to get the max for the Headgear only. I only have one Main Power Up ticket left (used 2 earlier), but unfortunately no luck with the Clothing and Shoes yet. At least I got the Headgear which is super fortunate.

Kirby and Dedede said:
Wow, you sure got lucky. My best ranking in that game was 33. My worst ranking? Dead last.

I applaud you.

Late reply, but yes, I got lucky because I presume my opponent had more KOs than I do, so the fact that I played much more safely and he/she had too many lines is a huge factor in my victory. It's also fortunate that I wasn't facing one of the top Tetris players who could do Tetrises, combos and T-Spin line clears very quickly too.

Thank you for reading.

Kirby Air Ride (Wii)

Got Nintendont on my Wii so I could play GCN games with my Wiimote, and I'm really enjoying Kirby Air Ride so far. I especially like Free Run mode of City Trial...it's literally an open-world 3D platforming engine that could have easily been built into a full-fledged 3D platformer. I'm sure that if Sakurai were still directing Kirby games today, Kirby would have made the jump to 3D by now. But instead of dreaming about what could have been, I decided to play some other modes too. Air Ride is literally a Kirby version of Mario Kart. It's a lot of fun, although some flaws in Nintendont are kind of hampering the experience. Top Ride is basically Air Ride, but shorter as the course is much shorter and the camera view is from the top. City Trial is pretty neat too, but I can't say I've played enough of it to form a proper opinion.

Two flaws of Nintendont have somewhat affected my experience in a negative way. The first is a bit minor, but Nintendont requires a GCN memory card to save rather than a standard SD memory card, so I'm not able to save at all. The second is more major; as GCN games weren't designed around Bluetooth controllers such as Wiimotes, the game would often register button inputs that I never pressed and vice versa. It really got on my nerves. But I guess I'll just have to live with it until I can get some proper GCN equipment.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

I'm playing world of loading because I don't feel like playing against link and ness today. God it's so agonisingly long, I liked event matches but if you stretch them out for so long with so few actually having any quality it just makes me hate them. The subtitles telling you what's happening during the cut scene are funny. watch out! It's the greatest evil of darkness and evil; daaaarkguy.

Dark Souls Remastered.
I killed two bosses with ease Ceaseless Discharge and the Demon Firesage. The latter was too easy. I beat the Demon Firesage with a Greataxe +10 and a crest shield. He had nearly 6,000 HP and I creamed his ass. Defeated him within 45 seconds of first engaging him.

Hollow Knight (Switch)
I've finally defeated Grimm, meaning that I now have all of the Charm Notches. I now just need the gather the last three flames, and then I can fight the even harder version of Grimm *internal screaming*

Kirby: Star Aliies
Played both of the Minigames to add an extra 6% to my completion percentage, now I just need to defeat the Ultimate Choice on Soul Melter and then I've 100% my save file.

Yoshi's Crafted World (demo)

Finally got around to this! It reminds me so much of Yoshi's Story, which is a good thing for some people (YS wasn't my favorite). However, this seems way better!

Super Bomberman R.

So I recently purchased this game, and I'm glad I did. I had the choice of buying it or New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe, I chose Bomberman. Now either the game is really difficult, or I'm bad at it since I'm trying the franchise for the first time. I reached World 3, and believe me, some of the levels like 1-6 were a total nightmare. The bosses are kinda simple, but hard. You have to hit their weak spot several times (easier said than done). But all this challenge doesn't make the game bad. MegaMan is a challenge, but it's really fun. It kinda is the same case here. I also played some battle royale (not the F one) with my little brother, and we kept loosing. Maybe I'll keep playing it if I learn about the mechanisms a little more.

Kirby Air Ride (Wii U)

My Nintendont frustrations have been done away with now that I have Homebrew on my Wii U. With a little extra work, I got a forwarder on my Wii U Menu that lets me use the GamePad to play GameCube games. Kirby Air Ride plays like a dream now. I also finally got it to save my progress, so that's a plus.

Oh, and did I mention how difficult the King Dedede boss fight is? Because it's definitely tough.

Super Mario Sunshine (Wii U)

Controls are far more complex here than in Kirby Air Ride, and Nintendont's button configurations made things a bit more confusing. But I was able to get used to them. I got three Shines, fun game so far.

Super Mario 3D World (Wii U)

With a little help from Homebrew, I'm able to finally enjoy this game again! I was Mario, playing with three of my siblings. The one playing as Toad was just causing a bunch of mischief so the rest of us formed a resistance against him. That was awesome. Since I'm playing off of Loadiine, the load times are much longer than usual, but hopefully I'll be able to fix that soon!

Super Bomberman R

Played for a few seconds because I got stuck in a level in World 3 where you need to escort some Bombers to a specific location without killing them, but there's literally an entire population of enemies, since there are 2 enemy generators. So instead of wasting my time, I played...

Super Smash Bros Ultimate

Played a few random matches with my little brother.

Fire Emblem...

Immortal Sword

I have yet to get my hands on any official FE game, but I discovered this fangame (which my version is a demo, but maybe there is a full version I am unaware of.) and well... I liked that! I did lose a unit in the prologue, but after that, it was a pretty good run. There were many close calls, like one of my bow knights being awfully close to a guy with a horse-slayer, which could've ended my guy and dealt 40 damage to him, but he missed, fortunately.

The story follows Uther, the brother of the friend of Roy's dad, back then when he wasn't the Marquess of Ostia. Marcus here appears as a simple spear-weilding soldier compared to the Jagen he is in the official GBA games. Now this being a demo, the game skipped from chapter 2 to chapter 5, and for that reason chapter 5 was a bit hard since my units were the same level as they were back then, thankfully I had three more characters join my quest that same chapter. Despite the difficulty, I erased that map. After that, I played some Smash Ultimate World of Light...

Fire Emblem: Fates (Conquest)

i went and finished off the chapter with all the weed-er pots. laslow died like one turn before i used the escape win condition because i forgot enemy units could do team up attacks so he got rekt by Ryoma+some samurai/swordmaster. didn't bother resetting though because fuck going through all of that for a third time and i got still have selena and corrin for sword units anyways. (albeit not getting soliel this playthrough will be a true tragedy). also concerning child units i S supported effie and arthur afterward the chapter so i guess i'll do Arthur's child paralouge next. hope to gods his kid comes with a master seal because i really effin need one for Mozu already.

Dark Souls Remastered.
I defeated many more bosses and my final required boss which was the Four Kings before I reach the final boss. Gwyn, Lord of Cinder.

Fate/Grand Order

I beat all the challenge quests, I had some trouble with Gawain's and had to re-do it once since I didn't bring enough firepower. Archuria is great for long battles but you also need to make your entire team dedicated to stalling to get the best effect. Which is exactly what I did for the final challenge quest which is considered the hardest piece of content to date even for JP; Double Jeanne + Archuria.

When I pulled Jeanne last year I was sort of indifferent because I don't really like stalling as it takes way too long but this boss has 3 million hp split into three break bars so not only is it a ridiculous amount of health it's also not possible to just burst it down in one turn. Jeanne also doesn't require any skill levels because they all suck, you only want her for her NP which grants invincibility and healing.

It took 55 turns but I did it. I had Waver and Mash in the back row, when Jeanne #1 died I had Mash help with defense buffs and then when I was in a jam I swapped in Waver to charge my team and be the meat shield for a few turns.

Dragalia Lost

Void Battles have been added, they're slightly harder than a normal dragon trial in that you actually get hit and lose notable HP amounts but still not that hard. Another thing to grind lol. It looks like the weapons you can get from it can become 5* weapons with less stats/no skill but special effects like Skill Prep or (monster) Bane. The Fire Axe had High Midgard bane, I wonder how useful that is compared to the regular 5* axe. I like the options but the weapon crafting menu is getting a bit cluttered.

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U (Wii U)

I feel great. For the first time ever, I manually installed a mod (or rather, several mods) to a game! Here's a summary of what I did:

Being the main reason I homebrewed my Wii in the first place, I just had to add Bandana Dee to the game and complete the Kirby quartet. Smash really never was complete without him, so it feels great to have him here through mods. Of course, I couldn't make him a unique fighter, so I just put his model over Shadow Kirby's (Kirby's 8th alt). He still has all of Kirby's moves, including the Copy Ability, and I really need to edit that out with custom moves because it can lead to pretty glitchy graphics. The only thing I need to do now is to figure out how to make his name display as Bandana Waddle Dee instead of Kirby.

Also, I added a few music mods to the game as well. Particularly, I added two custom songs: Menu (Kirby Air Ride) and That Stubborn Tree (Kirby and the Rainbow Curse). The former was assigned to the menu (I currently have My Music set to play it every time I boot the menu), while the latter was assigned to the Dream Land (64) stage. I also changed up the music restrictions a little so that I could finally play King Dedede's Theme on Boxing Ring! These are the only music-based mods I have so far, but I plan to add more soon.

So yeah, this has been a pretty great day for me! I took a screenshot of the Kirby quartet brawling on the Dream Land (64) stage to showcase my success, but I unfortunately don't have any means to share it here, so oh well.

New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe.

So I very recently bought the game. I enjoyed playing with my bros a game I never thought I'd play (that is, before that port even got announced). It was a lot of fun playing as Bucken Berry again (yeah in case you didn't know he actually is in the game) with my bros. I also did some challenges, and they ARE challenging.

Dragalia Lost

With these new weapons coming in I'm going to forget which 4* elemental weapons I don't have so I've made a list of them and I'm just gonna finish making all the ones I'm missing. It's only about 8 of them but I've got so many mats and rupies that I can just do it and not really feel a dint in my resources.

Void Zephyr is apparently pretty hard and I don't have any of the good choices for using Dull Res weapons so I'm going to go with Sarisse using a Dragon Delay Res weapon. She doesn't exactly need Dull Res until the unavoidable attacks appear because she's ranged but she's also mostly support with her party buff so she doesn't need Dull Res as much as the DPS does. I'm just killing the mushroom instead of anything else.

Fire Emblem: Heroes

i got back into gacha hell. focusing on getting feathers so i can 5 star walwart and see how my calvary team with him/peri/veronica/magerika works out. oddly enough i have zero desire to roll on any of the banners. granted i'd rather just wait and save orbs for units i already have to be on them so i can just start working on +10'ing units. this mindset will of course go out the window the second a lucina i don't already have goes on a banner.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

surrendered to the guards in whatever the name of the city the dark brotherhood faction is located at is. i mean i could have just kept on luring the guards outside the city and killing them in the forest but tbh that was getting really old/annoying. anywho after i got out i went to brotherhood sanctuary and met the family. also while there what im guessing was thieves guild member handed me a note telling me where i can go meet the Gray Fox. i'll probably go meet the person eventually but for now i'm gonna work on the first brotherhood contract which is to kill a pirate captain apparently.
