Well, I haven't played Smash 4 for 3DS either. Smash 4 for Wii U is the only one in the series I've played, and it didn't have any 8-bit tracks.
 
3ds mute city was 16-bit

Also, half of the Mega Man music was chiptune medleys on the Wii U version.
 
The Star Wolf theme does play in Wolf's individual trailer, so I'm guessing it's already in the game.
 
The one in Wolf's trailer is Smash 4's version.

Assault's Star Wolf theme does appear in Smash 4, though, on the Orbital Gate Assault stage.

TBH I kinda prefer the dreamy battle theme in DT, Victory in the Dream World. So I'd kinda want that in Smash, though a mashup of both would be godlike. In terms of Dream Team music though, priority one needs to be Never Let Up.

I could list pretty much every theme in the whole game (this game has the best soundtrack ever by far), but not too many are fit for Smash. The game itself is basically the polar opposite of Smash, anyway. But like you said, Never Let Up! and Victory in the Dream World are also good candidates. And (unpopular opinion here) I actually liked the Smash 4 remix of Try, Try Again, and think it should return along with the original arrangement. A mashup of the two battle themes would be nice as well.

Building off of this, the main BOTW theme. It doesn't actually play in-game iirc, it was just in trailers, but it still should be there.

I'd like Jump Up Super Star and maybe some more Mario Kart 8 tracks. Ton of good music in that game. For Pokemon I'd like the Kahuna and Tapu battle themes, as well as the Elite 4 and Champion battle themes.

One Winged Angel and more Final Fantasy music in general, and finally more DK tracks besides 15 remixes of the same theme.

You actually can hear it in the background of the Great Plateau Tower stage in the Treehouse gameplay. So it is in-game.

Anyway, my only wish is the Finale from M&L:BIS.

EDIT: I think the Cascade Kingdom theme, AKA, Odyssey's secondary main theme will be in it. I also want The Great Bowser Tower or whatever it's called from SM3DW.
 
I do think In The Final deserves a remix though. I'd love to see an alternate official interpretation of it, especially for Smash. I can't wait for the remaster in the remake, but I do think that is likely to stay closer to the original but with higher quality instruments and sound.

I like Adventure's End but I also want The Final Antasma Battle and Never Let Up. Honestly maybe a M&L series medley would be dope. As long as it represents the whole series better than the Paper Mario '''medley''' did. Speaking of which, how about a Paper Mario medley that not only isn't dominated by the rebooted games, but actually has natural transitions between songs.
 
Since K. Rool had a bit of DK64 in his movesets like the boxing glove and blowing up DK Isle as his final smash, PLEEEEEAAAAASE add more DK64 music!!
