how dare you insult the King Mario's honorable breeches he will behead you for such a treason
Not that, I mean Mario Kart Tour being an Odd One Out instead of fixing and organizing it, as mentioned in my previous comment last September 22, yesterday
god i fucking hate this timeline where shit like this is just. Normalized. Games becoming lost media deliberately and intentionally. By design. No offline version planned.
Yeah I can get one game taking all of your attention away due to the constant notifications and everything, happened to one of my friends with Pocket Camp. I admit I find Mario Kart Tour fun because some of the courses and game mechanics are unique, but it's not challenging enough to keep me hooked to coming back to the game often. But granted I do keep my notifications for the game off and mostly use a dumb phone anyway, at least as much as possible so that could be why I don't feel as obligated to log in and to the daily challenges and do everything to completion, otherwise the temptation was there back when I used to have an iPod touch and would get notifications from games to come sign in and do things in the game every day.Hey, I know that I probably sounded really devastated in my previous post, especially with that exaggerated gif that I posted from The Office. But the truth is, I'm not actually all that devastated.
I mean, yeah it sucks that there won't be an offline version and we'll basically lose all of our progress, but at the same time I'm also kind of relieved that the game is ending. I won't have to play this game on a daily basis anymore and log-in everyday to do Today's challenge, clear all of the cups, and try to get everything out of every tour. Sometimes it felt like a chore having to do all of that. And when a game starts to feel like work rather than actual fun, well, that's not a very good thing.
Also, lately I've been feeling that I'm neglecting my other games since I have to dedicate so much time and attention to this game to avoid falling behind and missing out on cool stuff. I rarely play my Switch games anymore, or games on my other systems because like I said, I pretty much have to play Mario Kart Tour on a daily basis. And since I don't have all the time in the world to play video games like I did as a kid (nor do I want to play video games for hours every day because that's affected my social life and development), I can't really juggle playing multiple games at once. So now I'll finally be able to move on to other games.
So yeah, while it is sad that the game is ending, I also see it as a positive thing since I'll finally be free to play my other games more and focus on other stuff, not just this game anymore
This is the fate of all online live service games.
I'm not sure that's even entertainable. There has to be at least one badge that cannot be received anymore, right? Unless your definition of 100% is something like "all drivers, karts, and gliders". Which probably still isn't possible from a fresh save file, but more because of the limited time than outright unavailability.Pretty crazy this game is shutting down. What's crazier is it's the only Mario Kart I haven't played. (Well, besides the arcades.) Guess I have a few months to 100% it. Here goes... Hope it's worth it...
Yeah I'm not expecting to 100% it. What I mean is I want to squeeze everything I can out of the game before it shuts down for good.I'm not sure that's even entertainable. Yeah I'm pretty sure that there are some limited edition karts, events, gliders, and characters so that might not be possible.I'm not sure that's even entertainable.
