And it's so good that it ends up on GameStop's shop store, Amazon, NintendoLife, etc.

No, it's real, but it's most definitely place-holder art.

I started pairing up characters with doubles partners but I eventually said screw it and threw the rest in there.

I actually want Pink Gold Peach in this to be Metal Mario's partner and to continue the legacy. Plus if Metal Mario is a Power character again she could easily be Defense.

Yeah, that's true. I'm not sure how Defense will work, since the stats depend usually on the character's body size/length.
