post any random Mario thought on your mind

Well Mario gets treated pretty well.

Though I'd say Bowser and Luigi are treated pretty badly.

I don't really know how to feel about Mario since it doesn't feel like he shows much character in the Paper Mario games, especially compared to other games like Mario & Luigi or even Mario + Rabbids.

Solution: go back to how things were in the first 2 games, where most of the main cast was a lot better than they are now and managed to do this while sharing the spotlight with new characters, something they can't match up to even as the main focus now.

You mean the first game right? Because Luigi was always irrelevant (he spent the entire first game at home) and Bowser was pretty irrelevant for all of TTYD (the Glitzville encounter was so pointless).

I guess Paper Mario is (well, was) better at developing the usual mooks by making partners out of them whereas Mario & Luigi is better at developing the main cast.

Even so, I don't think the partners are that developed characters even compared to Mario and Luigi in M&L. Past their small arc that they were introduced in, they don't undergo any more development, unlike say, Huey or the Mario Bros who have moments throughout the game.

That's what I want in future Paper Mario titles. I want to see the partner characters actually undergo more development, more characterization, and have them interact with other partners. I think that would be really sweet to see.

Except they weren't. Mario hasn't changed in any of the games, Luigi is still that guy who does basically nothing and Bowser hasn't been good in any of the games since the first one.

Adding in a bunch of newbies isn't going to suddenly make what they do with the current ones any better.

Please make Mario interact with his partners, not make it look like they're talking to a pile of bricks.

Even if it's like how Mario & Luigi interact with each other but for some reason they have to talk in Italian gibberish while the yellow floating used urinal cake with poop feet does the arbitrary "point out what Mario and Luigi would've commented otherwise" schtick.

Thanks

So, this is interesting, this ad for the original Super Smash Bros briefly showed the promo style for the 64 era in motion, it actually looks nice.
Neat.
I still like the American version better though.

Many moons ago, I posted a link to a list of voices and voice actors I imagine certain unvoiced Mario characters to have. I haven't worked on that list since.

I also have to expand it because I haven't included Super Paper Mario characters, and I recently discovered the multitude of human characters from the old Golf and Tennis games.

This is probably more fit for the "Things you never noticed thread" but even the podium finishes in Sports Superstars seem to be taken (for the most part) from Tennis Open, which disappoints me further.
