Mario pictures

The "Secret test of character" trope is pure BS, as it amounts to bullying someone while knowingly lying. Anyone who does it and goes that far with it is an entity of pure unbridled spite.
 
I mean it's not like's a giant gate that has to watch over a presumably important place or anything.

Look I'm not saying he's mr character of the year here but he at least has a reason to do what he does. Starlow has NO reason for it. At all.

And THAT is what makes her so awful.
 
Also, Starlow is with you for like most of the game and many games straight counting, so you have to put up with her bitching almost constantly. The Star Gate is at least constrained only in one portion of the game and I'd rather take that and that short nasty Toad quip over her.
 
Most of what I remember of Starlow was "Hey you should probably go over there now," with her "bitching" mostly being reserved for the Shroob area in BiS (which she does apologize for, and not in a "hahaha I was joking you losers" way like the Starg Ate). And for DT, what I remember of her is her messing with Luigi's face while he slept and Dreambert mostly taking her role as exposition fairy. Admittedly, I didn't finish PJ past the Paper Petey fight (I was really burned out). And in MQTSfB, her role was "be harassed by a starfish," so I don't think that really counts either.
 
If they do it again it becomes redundant. If ya want a new cool exposition fairy thing, do something other than Goombas.

Then again, something I keep saying, MaRPG fans will cling on to original characters, so do what ya want, guys.

The more I think about it the weirder it is for me to see the Mario bros as two identical Marios. It would've been so weird if they had kept it that way.

Honestly, Peach looks like some 4 year old toddler.
And apparently, Luigi is the driver. Finally he has some form of spotlight.

Also this is Ice Luigi, despite the fact that the Ice Flower didn't exist at the time.
 
Yes. It's shitty as an item.

But I mean Koopa Troopa is playable and the shell is an item, so making it playable wouldn't exactly get the item out of the wheel.

On second thought though, Coins on the racetrack ain't exactly bad, it's just the ones in the boxes that irritate me.
