Re: E3 2013 Super Smash Bros. 4 Discussion

That's the beauty of Super Smash Bros. Easy to learn, complex to master

Re: E3 2013 Super Smash Bros. 4 Discussion

Someone needs to start something called "Operation Speed", which will be used as a protest to not have Sonic get cut.

Did Sakurai ever say he would cut Sonic?

There's no need for that. I don't think there's much of a scare of him not being in this game for reasons I stated. If he does get cut, the Backlash of it would be so immense that the whole Operation thing would be useless.

Re: E3 2013 Super Smash Bros. 4 Discussion

Speaking of Sonic, I like to think that they're tweaking his moveset a bit. 2 of his special moves were more or less the same and now Mega Man's Rush Coil is essentially a reskinned version of Sonic's Up B.

Re: E3 2013 Super Smash Bros. 4 Discussion

yeah sonic's moveset was definitely one of the lamest in the game

there was jump, spin into a ball, kick, spin into a ball, spin into a ball, and spin into a ball

You forgot kick with a twirl, the most important one.

Re: E3 2013 Super Smash Bros. 4 Discussion

But aren't those the majority of moves sonic does on his actual games?

Re: E3 2013 Super Smash Bros. 4 Discussion

yeah well all captain falcon does in his games is drive

Re: E3 2013 Super Smash Bros. 4 Discussion

New Captain Falcon moveset:
Falcon Park
Falcon Reverse
Falcon Neutral
Falcon Drive

I liked Sonic's little spring jump thing though. But he was just way to fast to even control him, IMO. He should be slowed down a bit.

Calling it now, Yarn Yoshi will be Yoshi's new model for SSB4.

I don't know how I'd feel about using a character model from a game that doesn't even have a release date yet.

I kind of want to see SMG2 Yoshi in HD anyway.

Re: E3 2013 Super Smash Bros. 4 Discussion

I'll hate it if they use the yarn model for Yoshi. I want the one based on Super Mario Galaxy 2.

Re: E3 2013 Super Smash Bros. 4 Discussion

Using Yarn Yoshi's model is not going to happen. That's not the way to go to represent Yoshi. It could be an alternate costume, though.

Re: E3 2013 Super Smash Bros. 4 Discussion

What if they make a Kirby's Epic Yarn stage and everyone becomes yarn models of themselves in a similar fashion to them become paper thin models in the Hanenbow stage?

that'd be awesome

Re: E3 2013 Super Smash Bros. 4 Discussion

That's awesome, but I don't think it's possible. The flat characters in Flat Zone are actually 3D, just very squashed in width. Yarn is something totally different than a mere squashing of a model.

The roster is now in the implementation phase.

excited yet kinda nervous

Re: E3 2013 Super Smash Bros. 4 Discussion

Good that they're not taking requests. This gives the developers time to work on the actual game.

It certainly is possible, but it would require a little more work on the part of the texture artists. It would be awesome if it was true, though.

Especially with the increased space with the Wii U discs, it would be a lot more possible to implement it into the game. IIRC, there was barely any space left for Brawl on the disc, so I can see why they only squashed the models instead of doing new textures.

Re: E3 2013 Super Smash Bros. 4 Discussion

It's a bit of a waste of development time considering it's for one stage. Flattening a model probably took no time at all, making yarn variants of every character in the game probably would take a bit longer.

That's my thoughts too. It would waste too much development time. Probably the only Yarn reference we'd get is either music, trophy, or stickers (assuming all the aforementioned options return)
