Blaziken is not THAT slow. Max out its speed, and then teach it Protect (Speed Boost), or give it a Choice Scarf (Blaze), and it can outrun max speed Electrode; 426 vs. 416.

Metronome's japanese name was "Wag Finger", I think the english staff did that in purpose.

What's even odder is that Emboar actually has weaker defenses than Blaziken and Infernape. You'd think that it would have stronger defenses for a slower Pokemon, but it does beat Blaziken and Infernape in the HP and Attack stat department.

Of course, when you think it over, Rampardos is quite fragile and slow too.
