i know it's supposed to be a spooky story and not a real problem but i think this part is normal if you don't have anything in reserve during the bowser fight anyway, although it does show up if you do (be it something you brought in or a mushroom peach gives you during the fight)

The 3DS is responsible for a whole lot of memories of mine over the past decade. I got it around launch and my first game for it was Rabbids Travel in Time 3D, which I don't remember being the most interesting game but it, the pre-installed features like AR Games, Face Raiders, and Mii Maker...

I got Cyndaquil (Timid), which fits pretty well. I think I also got it back I played Red Rescue Team years ago, so pretty neat that it's come full circle.

I'm hoping the next time they decide to do a 2D Mario, they try something a little different (that isn't a power up or a flavor-of-the-day gimmick) instead of reusing the same level themes and bosses for the most part. Not that the NSMB games aren't fun, I'm just getting kind of worn out.

If we had to have another Mario rep I'd pick Toad, but after skimming his wiki page again I realized there's not really a lot of Toad-specific moves you could attribute to him. Like, there's the pickaxe from CTTT, power ups because Toad Houses, and...that's about all I can think of. Peach...

Different level aesthetics and more interesting bosses (even if they're restricted to fortresses and the castles have Koopalings as usual) are my highest hopes, aside from that just give me interesting levels and I'm a happy Nex.

Personally I'd consider it a spin-off, but iirc Nintendo themselves have stated that it's a main series title. I can't really be baffled at that since Super Mario Bros. 2 is also a main series game despite all the differences between it and other Mario games.
