Ahh, another day, another-
Yeah yeah whatever I'll just get on with it.
- I went to the studio, where I saw Lee and Jackson. I exited via the Train Exhibit (obviously the body of a- ahem- sorely not missed person- was not there yet, I would have noticed) and went to the Icy Lake to go and hang out with the excellent Mona for awhile. This fancy ghost tech-y stuff is really something, huh?
- Lyra and Glasses were there at the Lake, by the way,
- Me and Mona spent some time together in the Rumpus Room until Albina and Lu came along. I let Albina take Mona away and parted ways, Lu and I passed through the Solarium and I made my way back to the realm of the living.
- After passing through the Hydro Generators I went up the Cargo Lift and heard an explosion. I wish I had something to do with that, truly I do, but I've had my fill of explosions for my stay here.
- I spent some time in the Coatroom, then left, popping into the Gallery before I retired to my bedroom. I saw nary a soul after I entered the realm of the living.

I'm thinking. Fascia's helping out a lot.
Is the black substance on the pipe consistent with gunpowder, or some kind of coal from the Round House minecarts? Charcoal is used in different art movements than the Maestro's. Winter must have been familiar with it... ah, I would have liked to have asked him about it.
The blood in the Train Exhibit - is there noticeably more than even a trisection might cause? Or would that be a question for Miss Mona, or my own memory?

Upon closer examination, it appears to be coal dust. 99% purity.
It doesn't seem like there's noticeably more blood than the situation.
You look at the Pit Mine. The minecart track spirals into an abyss beyond sight. Then it comes out over on the other side and loops back to the initial track. Tanner sees you looking at the Pit.
"Yeah, don't try to ride in there. The minecart track goes through some real high pressure, high heat areas."
"Even for ghosts, it's horribly unpleasant. The living... Well. They aren't."
"The minecarts are always fine, though. I don't know where Gadd got them, but he was picking well."

You observe the gate. It's a very simple barricade designed to prevent mine carts from going further into the abyss. The top of the gate has not been damaged as far as you can tell, as it's now completely sunken into the ground, making passage possible. It appears to be mechanically operated, but you note no button or lowering mechanism nearby.

Investigate Thanos in the Crypt.

You examine Thanos (Car) (Dead) (Alive(?)) (Dead) (Real). His corpse is faceplanted on the ground, unmoving, near the south door, along with some wooden coffins pushed up against the door itself. His body appears to be covered in dirt and mud. There's a puncture in his side abdomen, and his hands are covered in splinters.

Vigil responds with a puff of smoke, and starts his autopsy on Winter, scanning the dragon's body with his lamp, and flashing it a few different colors.
Without a doubt, the train was what caused the trisection, but he takes solace knowing the victim was likely bludgeoned with a metallic object and knocked out clean before the gruesome aftermath occurred. He reasons that the material of the weapon is smooth and heavy, as the impact aligns more with a swift, decisive and dense strike, lacking any splinters, wood, or any other rough scratching that might happen with other crude weapons. He guesses it might be metallic, but can't say with certainty.
Besides the head contusion, he also notes fresh bruising in other places on the body. It doesn't appear to match the same bruising as Boo1268's from the previous night, so he suspects Winter may have been thrown while he was still alive.
It seems Vigil can offer no further insight. Despite the mess, this was a quick and clean execution. He mostly concurs with the state of things as they are, but adds this was a very cowardly attempt, and the killer "should offer thy head for retribution, swiftly".
He then heads to the Sewer to begin his analysis on Ratigan. Vigil moves a bit slow, so please wait warmly.

You examine the Smokehouse. The flue of the chimney is heavily damaged, and there's something foul-smelling burning on a smoker, which is filling the room with a strange incense-like haze while there's no ventilation. You wince uncomfortably as you take a small breath, before Mona pulls you back in a hurry and flushes your face and nostrils with water grbrbgllgbgbbrbbrhhbrhlllll
Seemingly immune to the strange haze, Mona bursts a hole in the flue chimney, which is partially frosted over by ice, to let the air ventilate again. This clears the room up, and allows you to examine the remains of what's burning on the smoker. Seems to be some kind of plant matter. There's also a busted up handheld vacuum in here.

You examine Winter's belongings. Some of them appear to have been scattered near the train tracks. He seems to have been heavily armed, possessing a sledgehammer, some metallic cables, and a pair of gauntlets, with empty pages folded inside them. There are some shattered vinyl records. You note not one scrapbook grimoire, but five similar looking books scattered on his person, each in a plastic sleeve. Some of the sleeves have dragon blood on them, but are protecting the books within. Around his tail is a first-aid kit satchel, which seems depleted of a few bandages.
In the First-Aid Kit is a folded-over scrapbook page, and a single sentence is written on the outside.
