MarioWiki Poll Discussion

Everybody's favorite trouble-making Koopas finally have their own poll, created by me!

Which of the Koopalings are your favorite?

*Larry
*Roy
*Lemmy
*Wendy
*Iggy
*Morton
*Ludwig
*I do not like any of the Koopalings
*I have no opinion

I think Iggy's use of Chain Chomps is endearing, and he has a really good New Super Mario Bros. U boss battle even without the Chain Chomps. Lemmy's overall colors with his hair and bouncy balls has a lot of stylistic appeal Also, more of a superficial reason, but Roys handheld Bill Blaster is always going to be the coolest Super Mario weapon ever.

I do have some fondness for Iggy's old design and the way it complemented Lemmy, but I can't deny they've done well at giving Iggy a splash of personality with his eccentric manner and cackling laughs. Paired with Lemmy seemingly into performance and Ludwig retaining that scheming leader touch, that makes them my three favorites among the Koopalings.

I like all of them, but my favorites are Roy, Iggy, and Ludwig.

Got a new poll created by me! Sorry for posting so late.

Mario and friends have been to many far-flung locales. Which of these distant settings is your favorite?
  • Sarasaland
  • Sprixie Kingdom
  • Flower Kingdom
  • Beanbean Kingdom
  • Pi'illo Island
  • Concordia
  • Rogueport
  • Flipside
  • Isle Delfino
  • Metro Kingdom
  • DK Island
  • Diamond City
  • Yoshi's Island
  • I have no opinion.

I'd go with Concordia.

I think the rpg settings tend to be more fleshed out as lived in worlds than the platformer locations. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, since the platformer locations somewhat make up in spectacle and level design, and the two genres are going for a different thing. Diamond City from WarioWare fit's in neither category, but it has a cool cast of characters.

Overall, my favorite setting from the options listed here would be Rogueport.

I guess Isle Delfino? My opinion on Mario locales is primarily based on how fun it is to explore them gameplay-wise, so anything in a 3D platformer would be an easy favourite for me. Isle Delfino also has the advantage of feeling like one cohesive whole across the individual levels, I love Mario Odyssey, but each location feels distinct enough in a way where I feel like I would have to compare individual kingdoms to an entire game. Throw in a little nostalgia for some of the elements of the island that made their way into Mario Kart games of the period, and I think it's just the right combination to win the competition for me.

Mario Kart World is also a locale that exists and I find fun to explore, though I find a lot of the space inbetween courses to not really stand out too much, so it's really carried by the ability to just freely drive around Mario Kart courses, which mind you is amazing in of itself, but taken as a whole, not enough to make it my favourite.
