What are some Youtube channels you enjoy watching?

I occasionally like to watch Youtube, and I thought it might be a fun topic to discuss channels that are fun or interesting to watch. Since there are a good amount of younger users on this site I would recommend giving a warning before recommending channels that frequently use strong language and the like.

A bit of a miscellaneous set:

-SimpleFlips has been a long-time channel for me. I don't watch every single video he puts out, but I've stuck through a lot of his series, and he's recently had an uptick in activity that I'm really glad for

-Fir, SmallAnt, cjya, Moarf, etc. are newer discoveries for me, but this general group does a lot of modded Odyssey play, stuff like Hide & Seek or Taskmaster-like games. I've never been that huge into Odyssey overall, but I find their stuff really enjoyable

-Speaking of Taskmaster, the Taskmaster YouTube channel has taken to uploading episodes directly there for their international audience, and it is so, so appreciated. Please watch this incredible show if you haven't already

-KingK is a YouTuber who has lots of long retrospective videos on games, in particular Zelda and Pokemon games. Lovely for some listening in the background, and he's got some good opinions

-Maximilian Dood is my go-to guy for fighting game content. When new character trailers drop for Street Fighter, Tekken, etc., I tend to watch the trailer on my own first, and then go seek out his reaction. Super down-to-earth conversationalist for the fgc

-Tarvould's Quest is a much smaller YouTuber, but he has a music trivia show that he puts on, and he's had some very fun guests on the show, like Vinny and Caddicarus to name a few recognizable ones. Big recs on that content in particular

-Lythero puts out a video once every eighty years, but they're always stupidly high quality when he does. Nearly all of his videos are such gems. I've probably rewatched the MvC3 ones twenty times each by this point

-KamSandwich has been affectionately called the Scott the Woz of board games, so if you enjoy that kind of quick wit overview video but want to learn about some dogshit board games, he's your guy

-AsumSaus is another once every eighty years YouTuber, but this time all about Melee! His presentation of information is very meticulously crafted and aesthetically rich

-I don't watch a lot of hbomberguy but his BBC Sherlock video and especially his plagiarism video are genuine must-watches. You have to. Don't look too closely at the run time

-Finally, I want to give a shout-out to a channel that's entirely an archive at this point, Broocevelt. She crafted an entire soundtrack for a hypothetical Ace Attorney Investigations 3, and she composes tracks in this style so flawlessly. I've even used them here and there in forum projects. A number of years back, she moved to a new channel, but nowadays that new channel only has one upload, which is a concept album that is still well worth a listen. I'm hoping she comes back soon with some new stuff

In the future, I might compile a list of smaller composers I've bumped into on YouTube that deserve a listen. They're one of my favorite niches on the entire platform
 
I somehow share a lot of those channels with Roserade, like Lythero, the odyssey group, and KamSandwich, but Failboat and some of his friends are also climbing my list.

I also forgot a couple and was reminded by later posts. So:
  • Matt Rose I don't remember how I came across his channel, but its been a comfort of mine for a while. I want to make a games thread based on some of the subreddits he's covered eventually. (t/Luigi coming soon)
  • The8BitDrummer Back when I was Pizza Tower crazed, I first came across one of his covers of the song, and as of last month I'm attending most of his streams. Even made the spoilered thing with some PixBrix
  • Roffle/Roffle Lite A mainly-Balatro YouTuber that got me into the game like some other 'tubers I've watched
  • RTGame For some of his gaming videos and collaborations with the next one
  • Shenpai I don't remember how I found her channel either, but it may have been a Mario Party video. Her vids are great, and most of her videos in general are up my humor alley (especially the collab ones)
  • The Party Crashers I've been a fan of them individually before they made a team channel, but I've been watching since close to the beginning. Mainly Mario Party games and other multiplayer games

- choopo (discusses the "bizarre lore" of pieces of media that often shouldn't be looked into too deep)
- Mung (VERY similar as Choopo, but with more niche topics)
- ToadBup (discusses creepypasta games or other horror related content. His sense of humor is very similar to mine, and I'm pretty sure he's the reason why I got into that kind of stuff)
- KamSandwich (already mentioned above, twice)
- Prizm95 (made a very neat and thorough Mario timeline video. He doesn't post too often, but if he ever does again, I'll definitely be watching it)
- jan misali (similar situation to Prizm95, makes very in-depth Mario videos sometimes)
- Solar Sands (makes good video essays)
 
Still love Vinesauce even after watching Vinny for probably over a decade by this point. if nobody else got me I know Vinny Vinesauce got me.
I realy like Sleep Deprived (do not watch them if you are a minor, please). In general I find Jschlatt to be a very funny guy and like when he is in things, but the whole SDP gang are just fun to watch, I also like Banana Channel for this reason.
I'm always back and forth on what Minecraft YouTuber I'm watching, I still really like watching TommyInnit, but recently I've been enjoying TheRealSquiddo. Her videos are very silly which is a particular kind of fun I can get behind.
R.R. Slugger is pretty cool, he just kinda talks about 90s LEGO sets, which I don't care about personally, but still really enjoy his stuff. They're well written, well edited, usually on the shorter end, and it's just cool to see someone talk about something their passionate about. also suprisingly funny sometimes.
I watch BFDI a lot because I have autism and the show appeals to my brain in a very specific way. please save me.

YouTube is pretty much my whole source of entertainment so I have plenty.

-Tride, Sdslayer, How-D, and EricVanWilderman: my Geometry Dash YouTuber core group. I've been watching a ton of them lately and, very embarrassingly, lost about $200 to donating to them during their streams. Tride did give me a middle initial and Sdslayer gave me the legendary quote "bro is writemaxxing" though.
-Mostly Fir, but also cjya, SmallAnt, and Moarf23 on occasion: kinda like Rose, I'm not big into Odyssey but I do quite enjoy Odyssey YouTube. Fir is by far my favorite and I even bought his plush for my cousin as a birthday gift.
-Caddicarus: I mean, come on, he's Caddicarus. I was streaming the other day and my ex showed up in my chat to send one message that was a reference to one of his videos.
-KamSandwich: happy to see you guys like him as much as I do. Fun fact, I own a copy of the Dr. Laura Game because of him.
-Scott's Stash: for whatever reason, Scott the Woz's regular content just hasn't appealed to me as much in recent years but I really like letting him talk about some random junk on Scott's Stash. It's very chill and I can get behind that.
-DankPods and James Channel: the typical technology YouTubers (AKA the LTTs of the world) have their audience but I like watching Australian guys yell at stupid technology.
-Matt Rose: I've dabbled a bit with some of the other Reddit reader type channels like The Click and EmKay but Matt Rose continues to be my favorite. So many of the things I post on my personal Bluesky are things I could absolutely imagine him reading.
-KrimsonRogue, lexi aka newlynova, and frankie's shelf: I'm literally an English major and a novelist so of course I have to have my selection of BookTubers.
-Drew Gooden and Kurtis Conner: even if I haven't been watching them as much lately (which I'm sure will change once the mood hits), I still have them to thank for shaping my sense of humor dramatically.
-a few honorable mentions that I just like for whatever reason and have been watching a decent amount of lately include Izzzyzzz, Rerez, Critikal, Kappa Kaiju, and No Text to Speech.

And finally, my most watched YouTuber of 2025.

-Chris Hattings: This guy has spent the last two years uploading daily compilations of the Billboard top 40 from each week of the 80s at first and now the 70s and 90s. I've found so many new songs that are some of my favorites of all time from him and I'm extremely normal about the compilations of every top 40 hit of a given year. I definitely have not managed to, on three separate occasions, influence the most replayed section of those compilations entirely on my own.

E: okay there are so many people I watch but I also need to shout out a few Nintendo YouTubers I watch including SimpleFlips (whose hoodie you can see in most of my avatars), Mayro, and raysfire. I could go on but I'll stop there or I'll be here literally all day.

  • Action Retro - Guy messes with old tech, connects old PCs to the Internet, floppy disk shenanigans
  • ashens - British dude reviews tat on a brown sofa
  • Barry Lewis - Cooking channel, British dude cooks recipes, tests kitchen gadgets, etc. Friends with ashens and periodically crosses over with him.
  • Barshens - A defunct channel (it ended up financially and logistically unsustainable to continue + YouTube originally was supporting it but stopped caring because they realized that these two chaps with a then-combined like 1.8 million subs were gonna do a channel that was fun and interesting to them [and people who vibe with this humor] and not mainstream friendly) hosted by ashens and Barry Lewis where they (and other friends) played dumb ass games. Still a fun watch even if it's done.
  • Bringus Studios/Jon Bringus - Guy games on cursed computers you should not be gaming on
  • DankPods/Borkus Studios/Garbage Time - Aussie man yells at nuggets, nugget video games, and nugget cars. Frank stinks.
  • Defunctland - Documentaries about theme parks and entertainment attractions
  • Digital Foundry - In-depth tech analysis of newly released video games, also DF Retro (not a separate channel) for older shit
  • James Channel - Friend of Dankpods shows off video game shit he has, bootleg consoles, fixes arcade machines, and does cursed shit like powering a Game Boy with lemons and making an NES cartridge an NES console.
  • Kitboga - Scambaiting
  • League of Extraordinary Board Games - Ashens, Paul Gannon, and Oliver Harper play weird and interesting board games
  • LGR/LGR Blerbs - More old tech and PC gaming
  • LSuperSonicQ - Lost media
  • Modern Vintage Gamer - British guy talks about emulators, old video game tech, the history of emulators, etc.
  • Nick Crowley - Creepy (real) Internet stuff
  • Noel Philips - British travel vlogger based in Texas. Often reviews planes, trains, buses, etc. all over the world ranging from expensive to cheap.
  • Nostalgia Nerd - Believe it or not, yet another British YouTuber focused on old tech, mostly computers from the 80s and 90s. Also friends with ashens (because apparently there's like 10 British YouTubers who all know each other)
  • Psivewri - Aussie guy shows off random computers and junk he gets for free/cheap.
  • Sayaka's Digital Attic - Italian woman restores computers and consoles, ranging from vintage to modern
  • Secret Galaxy - Wanna learn the history of some random cartoon or toyline from like 1982 that existed for one year? Well, you've come to the right spot.
  • SMOOREZ - Aussie man does in-depth videos of cheap smartphones/tablets/'smart' watches/bootleg consoles gets off Wish or AliExpress, finds at Cashies, or at flea markets.
  • Steve1989MREInfo - Let's get this out onto a tray. Nice.
  • Tasting History with Max Miller - Cooking historical recipes and learning about the history of them
  • Techmoan - Yet another British guy showing off both new and old tech
  • Technology Connections - Wanna learn about the history of random (non-computer) tech???
  • Tony Zaret - Unfortunately due to coleslaw we cannot tell if this is satire.
  • Toygrind - Probably the best Transformers toy reviewer out there.
  • Vangelus - A close second for the above.
 
Gamechamp 3000: The VG Myths series is the gold standard of the challenge run. Funny, memey, and semanticy, with quickfire editing that ensures even the hour long entries are just as watchable as the shorter ones. Even if I have no knowledge of the game in question, I'll watch its VG Myths episode. It doesn't get better than this. (I guess to dial back, Gamechamp's strength is in perfect scripting, especially for humor. VG Myths isn't really much for being informative or instructive,)
People Make Games: Games journalism videos, either highlighting extremely niche experiences or breaking down complex stories with their own additional investigation. I'm usually more interested in the former than the latter, admittedly.
Pop Arena: Big research person, whose current thing is a Nickelodeon retrospective named Nick Knacks. Incredibly indepth, with excerpts from books and interviews from various creatives furthering the narrative. While the retrospective episodes are long by design, there are also short videos for scattershot episodes.
Game Maker's Toolkit: My go to for nuanced looks at video game topics.
ErynCerise: At this point its just the SuperIdols RPG channel, but Arc 1 and Arc 2 of SuperIdols RPG have really good production values. Having character portraits match the civilian/Idol state, sound effects, and guest characters. Highly recommend, though I think I have to include a strong language warning.

I'll also mention Overly Sarcastic Productions, Shut Up & Sit Down, and Core-A Gaming, then echo Technology Connections and jan misali.

I don't watch YouTube as much as I used to but here are channels I go to nowadays

SatchOnSims: Favorite Sims YouTuber. Can get a little ranty at points, I'm very distant from the Sims community because I don't play my game like most people do.
AllenBirdCam: I tune in their Pretoria stream every evening to see some beautiful African birds arrive in the morning in their time.
FriendsofBigBearValley: I tune in occasionally to see what Jackie and Shadow, two beautiful bald eagles, are up to.
Scott's Thoughts: Love his solo Pokemon challenge videos, was so excited to see him complete Pokemon Yellow.

Unsubbed to these guys:
MysteriousMrEnter: He was always a bad cartoon reviewer but I didn't know how truly awful he was until Covid happened and he spewed out antivax talking points.
Jim Sterling: Content got ridiculously repetitive and a lot of "capitalism bad" fluff when they used to be more focused on video games. I unsubbed after they took a break for a long time, and their latest video was just more meaningless spiel about capitalism, corporate suits bad and use of genAI. I liked it when they made videos about how Silent Hill 2 remakes spammequins are bad, but I really got tired of hearing about the capitalist dystopia and how suits work people to death. It's not like it doesn't matter, hell it matters a ton more than video games, I agree, but it's basically just preaching to the choir without any substance.

I do like rewatching older videos, like from AVGN, Nostalgia Critic, and Angry Joe off the top of my mind.
 
I primarily favor wrestling channels for pro wrestling fans and entertainment channels for like news on movies and TV shows that are coming specifically to marvel and DC and things of that nature.

Omg yes +100 these guys. I didn't realise they changed the name of Hello I'm Gaming. Also Dank's other channels:

Also if you like Australian's yelling at things, have a look at DrainCleaningAUSTRALIA because it's literally DankPods if he were a drain cleaner.

Their most recent video is pretty alarming. Basically Youtube removed their videos on Loot-Boxes-are-gambling, claiming that they promoted gambling. This is despite them being the catalyst for governments to start regulating Loot Boxes. Because they're gambling. Now, assuming nobody backed them up, some of our best gaming journalism from the 2010s is gone forever.
It's very Orwellian. My tin foil hat is getting on board with their theory of "war against context."
Also I like the Steph Sterling crab.

I used to be big on 360Chrism's streams on Twitch, but some time later Twitch broke for me and was giving me errors when I tried to log in. Then, when I did finally log in, Twitch changed to the point I didn't like it anymore. Still follow him on YouTube though.

As for others:
I'm interested in a lot of music channels, especially those related to gaming. GaMetal, FredTheMontyMole, Paratroopa X, Triforcefilms, etc.
Prowder, for all the interesting Super Smash Bros. Ultimate challenges
Raysfire, PangeaPanga, and RedFalcon were the big three for me back when I really watched Super Mario Maker a lot.
Any of the big "group gaming" channels, such as Party Crashers (mentioned above), Sidequest, Underdogs Gaming, and so forth, are a big hit with me.
I also like gaming channels that do playthroughs without commentating, such as Japancommercials4U2 and The Silent Gaming Fish.
Lately, my obsession is with Earclacks, which has matchups between colorful balls that have themed weapons, such as sword, shield, dagger, bow, and others. Don't take that "colorful balls" part out of context...
That's probably the big ones. There are more that I haven't mentioned, such as ones of niche topics I like or other playthrough channels. I have a lot of them, so I had to narrow it down to these.
 
I'm a huge fan of UrinatingTree. He posts about sports and regularly gives his takes on teams, players, games, and sports history based on the facts. He's a cynical asshole who swears, yells loudly, and often pokes fun at teams and players who perform terribly. But he shows a genuine faith in the integrity of sports and toward those players and teams who do show up and take things seriously and play to win, he has nothing but compassion and respect. He's the definition of tough love done right and is one of the best reporters in the business. He's what TV Tropes calls a knight in sour armor. I've never met him personally and I wish I did, but he's one of the finest, most honorable men I know.
