Both games do have wack mods and such, but I'm pretty sure Mario Kart Double Dash wins out for simply letting you beat 14 Warios and Mario AND Luigi as opposed to Mario Kart Wii's meager 11 Warios and being stuck with just Mario.

But doesn't Mario Kart Wii have a 23-Wario mode???? Hmm hmm!

Mario Kart Wii DOES have the superior battle mode by far though, just because you can actually play it if you're by yourself hmmm.

Haven't played DD but the dual rider thing doesn't appeal to me, while Wii is my fave MarioKart game ever. If only Wii had Baby Park...

while Mario Kart Wii has eons more glitches than Double Dash, I still prefer it overall and recommend it if you don't have any friends.

Double Dash!! did offer a rather unique heavyweight kart with the Boo Pipes. We haven't seen any large vehicles that greatly excel at acceleration since then; the Offroader and Wario Bike do have decent acceleration, but they still pale in comparison to how quickly the Boo Pipes can accelerate.

Doublel Dash!!'s gimmick sets it apart from all other kart games that are out to this day; while team racing certainly exists, it's not on the level of you both being in the same kart. Not to mention you can play two characters at once! Compared to that, MarioKart Wii's idea is very run of the mill, outside of its control scheme. Wii is the game I have more nostalgia for and I'm better at as I've played it for far longer, but Double Dash!! is the one that has the idea I like the most and sets it apart from other racers.

Also, Wii's item spam is notoriously bad, and I didn't notice it as much in Double Dash!!.

I do think, though, that Wii has my favorite Rainbow Road of any MarioKart title, and none have beaten it.

Mario Kart Wii was more single player friendly, Mario Kart Wii's Online mode was amazing for the time, it also had that other mode that was like mission mode. Mario Kart Double Dash did have that chaotic factor to it, co-op grand prix, Bob omb Blast, and had 60fps in 3/4 player mode.

I'll vote Double Dash, because the game clicked more with me.

Wii battle mod is sucks compair to DD, map are too big, too much ennemies, your obligated to play on team, they are a time limit, no wii is overated at all

Double Dash has the Wario Car. The rest is better on MKWii.

I prefer Mario Kart Wii overall, but both are good games and I play them each depending on my mood.

Wii, always loved bikes since their introduction. the motion controls with the wheel attachment were fun and satisfying to get good at. also, wheelies

I've only briefly played Mario Kart Wii a few times at friends' houses but I was a lot younger so I don't really remember my thoughts on them aside from the fact that I wasn't interested in the Mario franchise at all just yet. But now as a teenager, I've watched gameplay of Mario Kart Wii and I've played the remastered tracks in MK8DX and I love them! Mario Kart Wii has the best tracks and music out of any Mario Kart game. I'm so happy Toad's Factory came back in Mario Kart World and I hope that maybe through dlc or something Wii Bowser's Castle will return as well.

I don't care much for Double Dash but Mario Kart Wii is honestly one of the worst Mario Kart games there is. It's a completely unbalanced mess of a game with tracks that are mediocre at best and compared to Double Dash, it's just...incredibly bland both in terms of gameplay and visuals.

Like for all my personal dislike of Double Dash, what fun unique gimmicks does MKWii have in comparison? Fuckin bikes and motion controls???????

Mario Kart Wii is one of my favorite games of all time. I think the reason why I like Mario Kart Wii so much is that it's brutally hard. Me and my brother do a giant cup of all 32 tracks whenever we play.

As for the powers ups. I love Mega mushroom is the best! I'm so happy they brought it back in Mario Kart World! I'm probably the only one to say that the lighting cloud is a genius mechanic. I never liked how the triple mushroom or banana circled around you in Mario Kart 8. I think Mario Kart was always supposed to have coins, but dew to Mario Kart 64 being the first not to have them, they just kinda forgot about them until MK7. But honestly, Mario Kart Wii doesn't need them. (I only liked coins in SMK and MKSC which you could have an unlimited amount of them.)

Another really fun thing is the glitch where you can play as the same character. And if you manage to place both characters, weird stuff happens on the winners podium. I don't care much for the motion controls and always play with a nunchuck which works great! Mario Kart Wii also has a large modding community. There are thousands of custom tracks to choose from. And they even brought back online mode!

Double dash is a great game too. One of the few Mario Karts I have ever 100 percented. I really love the double character mechanic and think it can be very strategic. Like how you can have two power ups at the same time, but you can choose which one to use first. The special power ups are great too. Double dash has better battle modes too.

Hoowee! Thanks for taking the time to read all that!

Have you played the CTGP Revolution mod yet? I haven't played it (neither do I own Mario Kart Wii lol) but I have seen gameplay of it on Youtube and its custom mode "Item Rain" is CHAOTIC. Like, winning is at least a hundred times harder.

I played a version of Mario Kart Wii with item rain on, truly random items, and 200cc. It's definitely more of a challenge than the standard fare. I enjoy it. Haven't played CTGP revolution though, quality of tracks from experience can be hit or miss.

I actually don't have a Wii. Instead I had to take the more difficult route of modding my Wii U. I have not tried the CTGP Revolution mod yet. The mods I have are: Inane Kart Wii, Mario Kart Midnight, Mario Kart Wii Deluxe, and Retro Rewind.

Item rain is very very wild. Items like mega mushroom, golden mushroom, and bullet bill stay on the ground, when they normally wouldn't.

Yeah, most of the tracks are mediocre. And then the good tracks are usually more detailed and can lag the game in local multiplayer. I've always wanted to make my own custom tracks, but the process seems very complex.

I only have a Wii and a Switch. I remember wanting a Wii U when I was younger but it didn't end up being worth it lol. I still sort of want a Wii U, but it's probably not worth it buying it used.

Anyway, some of the tracks seem cool though from the CTGP Revolution. I think they added more tracks from Double Dash and DS.

I have a lot more nostalgia for Double Dash. Wii has the more polished gameplay and the most developed modding scene. This one's hard to decide, but I will say Double Dash has a good amount of tracks that have yet to return and I really miss, like Wario Colosseum, Mushroom City, and GCN Bowser's Castle & Rainbow Road.

I do like the battle course "Nintendo Gamecube" where you drive on the console itself. I think it would be cool if they had one of those tracks but themed to the Switch or Switch 2.
