Fighters and platformers make up a good chunk of my collection with a small handful of racing and RPGs in the mix as well.

Favorite genre? I like the genre Legend of Zelda is. Besides both 2D and 3D Platformers. Maybe more 3D Platformers.

also i wish i could say danmaku but really i only like touhou mainly because the lack of spell cards in all other games in the genre frustrates me

I have a short attention span, so stories don't keep me enthralled for very long. Off the top of my head, I liked Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulation's. The way all the cases came together was great. Most of the Zelda games have a good story, too.

Day 20: lately it has been JRPGs, but usually it's 3D platformers

Day 21: Without any question, Persona 4. It's the kind of game it's only over when the credits start rolling, and the story itself is geniously inserted into its gameplay, with the social links and multiple endings.

I don't usually give a crap about the story in games, so I guess the one with Baby Luigi involved would be my favorite.

I haven't played many games with good stories, but Portal 2 was a notable exception.

Easy, the only game I've played without a story that lasts for all of 5 seconds: Mario & Luigi: Dream Team Bros.

Me too, and Super Mario Galaxy (not the sequel as it didn't have deep depth, but story is just a part of the game and not the overall thing that my view is on).
