post any random Mario thought on your mind

I would like a new Mario sports game (excluding Mario Kart). We haven't got a true one since Mario Strikers Battle League in 2022. I'm hoping we get like a Mario Sports Mix or Mario Sports Superstars kind of game. I think it really could work with the new art direction the series is going for from Super Mario Bros. Wonder and Mario Kart World.

We need a Mario horse game. Continue what Sports Superstars did, but refine the racing aspect and expand on the part where you take care of a horse (ideally it should be your Mario character of choice interacting with the horse; imagine Mario brushing the horse). And expand on the explorable areas, ride around Mushroom Kingdom as a Mario character of your choice with your horse. It could be Mario Kart World's free roam, but on horseback.

speaking of Mario Sports, there's a lot of talk of the potential of Mario Baseball returning and i have mixed feelings on that primarily because I feel like there is a 99.9% chance Toadsworth will be cut from the roster and I don't know if my heart can take that. The one series he got to be playable in.

Mario Baseball coming back?! Holy shit, YES!!! I LOVE baseball and I love Mario! My two favorite things combined into one! Do it, Nintendo! Seriously, DO IT.

I mostly don't want it to receive the same middling reception as all three(?) other Mario sports games on the Switch but I still believe Toadsworth died in the early 2010s so I'd say to just let him rest.

I know that chain chomp is supposed to be a little scary, but I honestly find them to be cute because they act like a dog. I think it would be cute and funny for Bowser to just keep a chain chomp around as a pet.

Funnily enough, Chain Chomps are designed to be like dogs because they were inspired by a childhood experience from Shigeru Miyamoto where a dog ran up to him and attempted to bite him, but was held back from doing so by the chain it was attached to. Subsequently, there is a sub-species of Chain Chomps called Chain Chomplets who are being kept as pets by a Pianta NPC in Pianta Village in Super Mario Sunshine.

So when are we as a fanbase going to collectively agree that Nintendo is just objectively wrong about Larry Koopa?

Look, there is no universe where I would ever believe that the youngest Koopaling is anyone but Lemmy, and he also does not "just look like a Larry" whatsoever, Dayvv. Based on some of the other musicians the Koopalings are named after like Iggy Pop, Roy Orbison, and Lemmy from Motorhead, I think the idea that he's named after the guy from U2(?) is a lot more plausible.

Yeah, I agree that Larry Koopa doesn't just "look like a Larry" to have been named as such. If we really are to believe that all Koopalings were named after musicians with the collective intention of doing so, then it would make a lot more sense for Larry to be named after the drummer from U2, especially if we take the cockscomb hairstyle into consideration, which would be fit for a rockstar rather than some generic individual.

Why are there so many Kings and Queens in the Mario World? Those also include Kings the Essentially Rule over a single race. Ie Womp King King Boo King Bob-omb King Bill.

My guess is that it has something to do with the Mushroom World being intended to be a fantasy world modeled after fairytales, and as such, there's a lot of monarchies in place. The same thing goes for the world that (At least for the Archie Comics and the DiC Entertainment cartoons) Sonic the Hedgehog establishes.

Why didn't they do another year of Luigi in 2023 to celebrate the green-clad hero's 40th anniversary?

One Year of Luigi was enough to almost shatter the Mario universe, goodness knows what a second Year of Luigi would have done…

I kinda wish they would give the Year of Whoever concept another go, as long as it's a character I personally like or else I'm going to go on Unspecified Social Media Website and act like they offended me in particular.

Then you would be asking for that one game called "Equestrian" in Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games London 2012...
I DIDN'T KNOW NINTENDO WAS A BRONY!

That's more of a obstacle course with a horse on it? I like to have a more open-ended kind of game where you're exploring landscapes made for horse riding. Mario Sports Superstars kind of did this with the farm map and several tracks you can race on, but it was limited to that small map and generic race tracks, and it's all set in the first person view. I think Mario sports can expand on this, though, like in addition to the first person view, you pick a Mario character to take care of a horse and bond with the horse and you can watch them ride the horse. And similar to the farm map, you get a bigger map that's much more fun to explore in.

The horse game market is untapped (and don't tell me "it's for girls" can't be a selling point; Barbie Fashion Designer outsold Doom and Quake at the time)... and Mario Sports Superstars has a pretty nice spot being the horse mode, in an otherwise generic game. It has a making of a horse game. Why abandon all that stuff you made for a late 3ds game.

It's kind of weird how Peach does nothing when a Koopaling grabs her and takes her to a fortress while in her own games she's capable of fighting.

I'm about 50 hours into TTYD so for the most part, I'm pretty much in "make your own fun" mode, so in my time just wandering around hoping I can imagine a good story happening, I've realized just how bad the houses in this game are. Far too many of them just don't even have beds and I don't think I've seen a single house with a kitchen. There are some places in TTYD where I'd love to live but not if that's the kind of house I'll have to be in.

I don't like that he was phased out so I'm not ever gonna just accept that he's never coming back. He plays a distinct role and it hurts every time I see Nintendo just throwing regular Toad into that role instead. The movie straight up making a "Toadsworth if he was less distinct and more compliant with how most Toads look today" character while leaving the man himself on the cutting room floor hurt my soul.

Him being "canonically dead" is a headcanon that only exists to cope with Nintendo's baffling choice to retire him as a member of the cast. There's no good reason for him to be avoided. And even if he WAS canonically dead, that shouldn't matter in roster spinoffs. If I thought that mattered in the slightest I wouldn't be so passionate about pushing Fawful as an ideal rep for the M&L series. I disagree with most of Nintendo's retcons that erase a whole character or species, like the Koopa Kids. But Toadsworth to me is easily the most egregious of them. Kammy Koopa also being up there (she and Kamek can and should coexist goddamnit)

I mean he rarely did anything but stand around and worry, which toads already did anyway. He was just more british about it. And this is coming from someone who likes Toadsworth.

Plus Kammy Koopa was a redundant character, she serves no purpose at all.
