I'll teach ya the difference

1. Models are animated by key-framing and computer-calculated transitions
1. Sprites are animated by individual frames (with the exception of flash animation)

2. Models use 3D geometry, use textures, mapping, and bones
2. Sprites use pixels and simply color to colorize the entire character. They are 2D and flat
