How did Wrinkly Kong die?

She died of Old Age.
 
That's possible, but that doesn't exactly explain why Cranky's still living.

People don't die the same age because of old age, do they?
 
Slipped on a banana peel during a midnight raid of DK's hoard. Old age is more likely. Anything else would probably have been mentioned in DK64.
 
The last game she was alive in she had turned into a exercise nut who also played super mario 64 a lot.
 
She was curious to see what was inside the Wrinkly doors so she went in, then got stuck. Whenever you open them, only her spirit emerges.

My guess is that she passed away, due to old age, though Cranky Kong is still alive right now.
 
wrinkly kong died shortly before the events of donkey kong 64, which was released in 1999.
