They sort of overdid it with the N64 retro courses, in my opinion.

I think after this game, every single track of MK64 has been reused. Way to go, Nintendo.

Not Wario Stadium

Well, it's not stopping them from re-reusing tracks, y'know.

When are we going to get an extra cup for once?

Probably never :p

I know! 8 cups is just too little :(

Re: Your Mario Kart 8 Retro Track Predictions/Wants

Super Circuit, a GBA game, still has the distinction of having the most tracks in the series. :P

Nintendo has confirmed there will be 32 tracks, but they haven't said anything about DLC yet so that's still a possibility. If more courses is one of the DLC options than I think there will be one retro cup and one new cup or three retro cups and one new cup since it takes more time to design completely new courses than to remake old ones.

EDIT: Whoever is saying Yoshi Valley is actually a new course - you're grasping at straws mate.
Yeah I find it unlikely that there would be a new course with the same name as an older one now since the last time that was done outside of circuits, Bowser's Castle and Rainbow Road was in DS with Wario Stadium, I was just pointing out how it seemed odd for there to be 4 courses from 64 and only 3 from Wii and 7 after how 7 picked it's retro courses. Trust me, I want Yoshi Valley in 8 as well.

Especially being the horrible game it is. It's even worse than MK64 and SMK together, and that's saying a lot. It doesn't deserve that honor.

Re: Your Mario Kart 8 Retro Track Predictions/Wants

I personally like Mario Kart Super Circuit :'(

To each his own I guess

No, no, I don't think it's worse.

Re: Your Mario Kart 8 Retro Track Predictions/Wants

I thought Super Circuit was fun, a little slippery but fun nonetheless.

Super Mario Kart is the one I can't stand.

Re: Your Mario Kart 8 Retro Track Predictions/Wants

Super Circuit doesn't get the love it deserves. Even from Nintendo.

Mario Kart 64 and Super Mario Kart are both slippery as well.

Maybe because it's made by Intelligent Games, the same company involved with Paper Mario and WarioWare, and we know how those went recently.

I thought Game & Wario did pretty well!

PS. I don't own it.

Re: Your Mario Kart 8 Retro Track Predictions/Wants

I heard that its sales tanked near the day of release. We know about Sticker Star's fate, right?

Re: Your Mario Kart 8 Retro Track Predictions/Wants

But Intelligent also did Fire Emblem: Awakening and Pushmo.

Re: Your Mario Kart 8 Retro Track Predictions/Wants

Nintendo hates Intelligent Systems when it does Mario or Mario-related games.

I never said they weren't. I still hate Super Mario Kart and enjoy both 64 & Super Circuit regardless of their physics.

Re: Your Mario Kart 8 Retro Track Predictions/Wants

Yeah, but it seems that you singled out Super Circuit for being slippery.

Re: Your Mario Kart 8 Retro Track Predictions/Wants

It seems that you are looking too deep into this. I only said slippery because that is the first thing that comes to mind when I play that game.

Re: Your Mario Kart 8 Retro Track Predictions/Wants

With the rate they're using N64 tracks they might have to start repeating tracks later on. If they want to have tracks from every game, at least. And if there is ever going to be Mario Kart 9...
