Which Mario Kart's have you played?

No, seriously, because the game is created by Namco. Pac Man is owned by Namco.

Anyway, Pac Man doesn't need to be in Mario Kart, like how the Final Fantasy characters don't need to be in Mario Sports Mix. Why? It's simple. It's called MARIO Kart.
 
So what? I want to knock Pac-man off a cliff if I ever get the chance to play the arcade.
 
And thanks for giving me another reason characters outside from Mario should be in Mario Kart. Wow, now I sound contradictory.
