Also, the casting reveals yesterday bring me right back to the first one with Chris Pratt, but in a good way. Glover does a good job VAing for Yoshi, and they made the right decision waiting until after the character reveal to reveal the VA.
So, I'm still trucking through Galaxy 2. About to face the final boss after the comet in Flashblack, so I'll beat the game with the max (I think) 105 stars.
I say this as I just had to do the Fleet Glide race, and the game pulled its punches despite me finishing it on the fourth try.
Attempt 1: Almost won, then grazed one of the airship blades and got passed at the last second. Stabbed by bird.
Attempt 2: Combo'd from bouncing off of something right into the dropping wall.
Attempt 3: Another faceplant.
Why do I mention this? I just dislike tests of speed like this that, once you lose like in Attempt 1, they just kill you anyway to make your next attempt begin. The Chimp is respectable and doesn't kill you every time you fail, unlike the leader bird who apparently has great stabbing skills with his beak.
Interesting fact: You can clear the entirety of Chompworks's second star without ever using the Spring Mushroom. I may have to redo it and record it, but it just takes a triple jump into a spin-wall jump to skip the first ramp, more spin-wall jumps, and momentum-filled backflips to reach top (while accounting for getting set to "sliding" due to landing on the wheels wrong near the top of the triangle tower)
Edit: Oh of course it's already mentioned on the wiki page for the mission
HUD v2 since I forgot some things I was gonna add, and the lines in the old health circle kinda bothered me. The shadows are new (which I ended up liking a whole lot more), a multipler thing now exists, as well as remaining combos and a combo meter. Most of these are likely the default values at the start (not including the Score starting at 100k)
Apparently, I was still kinda loopy as my mom and sister recorded me being said loopy
Kept saying stuff about regaining my hinges, yet I remember saying like half of that and not with that voice infliction (true Southerner came out I guess, couldn't understand most words I said, think of that one DND party's Torbek how he sounds vs. how he thinks he sounds)
Eh whatever they've got a little bit of jokes to use but won't be the end of the world
Am back from surgery, everything went well
Didn't even say anything stupid as I woke up practically conscious again and not messed-up minded.
No dreams either, feel like I time traveled
My upper lip feels funny and I can barely drink but other than that I feel good.
So tomorrow I'm gonna have to get two teeth removed since they're blocking other ones from coming down in preps for braces, but I'm more worried I'll say something dumb for my family to use as ammunition in the joking gun.
It might be something stupid (what the hell is a kilometer or something along those lines), a rant on a fixation (like Balatro or Ball X Pit which I'm getting into now), or a rant about my game idea. Whatever it is I hope anesthesia decides to be kind tomorrow
We have Health (starts at 6, which can be increased to ?? by a Joker-equivalent or a Planet-equivalent (which the latter will upgrade various parts of the moveset (like speed) instead of hands), the Score Bar (which will increase as you score), the Score Mo' (which will show initial quota, and decrease as you score visible points, it was going to be called Score More Than but I like that more :>), and Money (which will be earned similarly, but instead of Hands, Unused Combos will score money (you can start as many as you want, but you miss out on more money after that last combo))
Likely not final, and originally my plan was max score to be a Googolplex, but that is beyond all coding limits and it'll stay at Balatro's naneinf limit, but the score will say TOO MUCH upon reaching nan, and you will be granted a win if you can score naneinf against the nan (maybe make a boss titled The Banana which can only be seen here)
I noticed this as I looked at the Flopside Pit of 100 Trials page, how many are there of each of the latter bros on Floor 99? The S suggests there's at least 2, so I'd guess 2 on each, but I'd like to be certain before someone edits the page.
So I decided to do random pages for my next animation, and I hit a lucky random. I got Sweetville (from the Saturday Supercade, apparently), then got the Mario RPG Vinyl page, then got Sweetville again. What is the odds of that?
As I get back into Smash Bros and maining K. Rool once more, I'm finding some bread-and-butter combos that work on most CPUs (live players not yet tested).
1) High-Up Blunderbuss: Shooting off Blunderbuss in the air, then falling through a platform to suck up your opponent can sometimes send them right into the line of fire of the original cannonball, if it hadn't despawned yet.
2) Crown-a-buss: Another I've started is doing Crownarang on the ground to bring opponents closer, then shooting off the Blunderbuss after the first hit.
Still working on it tho. Did 7 matches (I think?) and only lost one. I was on randoms Level 9, and round 3 was against Diddy Kong. I then proceed to get DK himself in round 4, then lose after coming back (Got downed 2-1 at ~60%, then held it together until 1-1 at each 100%. Lost to an aerial...) in a miracle. Cinema match.
I am planning on playing through the original DKC on SNES Classics to get the experience, I'm a few levels in already. Can't wait to experience the whole thing for the first time
The one-two combo of "Annotate the following x pages of the Kami document" and "Write a CERER essay about similar topics" is the one I dislike the most right now. Hey, I can use annotation later to label code, so I know what the world it does, so some usage for annotation skills
