A throwaway practice sentence from my German class managed to manifest itself into reality about 30 minutes after I left.

I never thought I would be nostalgic for a thermostat but my dad wouldn't stop pushing us to get this new one installed and I already don't like it. Complicated thermostats are really annoying to me since if I'm changing the settings, it probably means I'm either too hot or too cold; not exactly the best time to try to figure out how the damn thing works. Our old thermostat had up and down buttons, a heat/cool switch, and a fan setting. It was so simple and I wish I had it back.
