    Also, I don't like you just barging in on my plot like that, you should've at least send a PM asking for my permission. Yes, I know that part of the fun of RP is interacting with other users, but it's just a common courtesy.

    I'm going to be honest with you, LJS. I've thought about that page a good bit in the past - mainly to chuckle - and I just don't, personally, see much benefit to updating it extensively. Maybe a mention of The 'Shroom, a mention of forum games, a mention of some roleplays, but, really, just that, brief mentions of "yeah, these exist" at most, I think would do.

    I'm pretty much always for preserving content in multiple places, and I think this community has a rich, fascinating history that I quite enjoy sharing with people, but, even with that... I just don't think there's a good reason to go into elaborate detail on a public-facing TV Tropes page. Besides, much of it would be incomprehensible to the average reader of TVTropes who hasn't ever poked around this site. I mean, imagine trying to get someone completely unfamiliar with this place to understand Big Changes' significance and the emotions we felt during his reveal, or how Tom Nook being wrongfully executed almost disrupted the wedding between a Monty Mole and a Bullet Bill with an explosives company in a bad future timeline in Neo Bowser City in a skyscraper built on the former headquarters of a newspaper publisher, or even something like the story arc of Shmaluigi.

    I mean, it'd be kind of fun reading all of that as an outside, I admit, but, also, without a lot of additional context, just incomprehensible. I don't think it would provide any benefit to us as a formal project, especially not for the amount of work required.

    That said, that's just my personal opinion. I'm not speaking for anyone else, and, I mean, obviously if individual people want to go edit it, I can't stop anyone (and won't try to).

    But, please, if someone does edit it, please remove that line about The Three Mushketeers. It's been long enough. I think it can come off now.

    Even as someone who has clearly frequented this forum for over 10 years, a lot of this stuff is foreign to me. Only a tiny fraction of the entire MarioWiki community themselves knows this lore (the entire community which includes people who exclusively edit the wiki, people who just post in Marioverse or in forum games/rp, or just casually post profile posts, that sort of thing), and putting it on TVTropes bereft of any sort of context doesn't exactly benefit any of us when 95% of it requires heavy contextualization and in-jokes to understand it.

    I'm not trying to downplay the heavy involvement of dedicated corners of the community, I'm just matter-of-factly stating why a lot of our content works perfectly as-is within the confines of this community and why attempting to reference it outside it is pretty awkward and confusing.

    Giving Longform a renewed push has been a low-priority idea of mine for... well, basically since the original version ran out of steam.

    I have too many other things that are higher priorities to do anything with it, but the reason I bring it up at all is that there's been some thought given to ways to make a Longform-style RP work better - make it more accessible - on here, so you can drop me a line and I can share some of those with you so you could hopefully have a firmer ground to start on.
