My case for the Oxford comma is that it's less for writing and more for reading. Commas are used in sentences to indicate short pauses, like this. It sounds unnatural to read the last two items in a list as if there's no pause between them. So even though there's no grammatical necessity for the Oxford comma, I think it's more to indicate the pause when speaking.
Turns out I have pneumonia in my left lung. I'm just going to rest for a while so I can recover, I think.
