Bad movies thread

The God's Not Dead films are literally the atheist professor chain letters made into movies.

A favorite bad movie I absolutely adore is "Squirm," which was filmed in Alabama, and I think it starred several local actors in various supporting roles, but the defining feature was that it asked you buy earthworms as the movie's monster. Yes, really. Basically, downed power lines trailing along the ground cause the worms to grow really big and get a hankering for human flesh. The low-budget 1970s special effects alone are worthy it for the laughs you'll have. That movie is insane.

The thing I hate is that they strawman ahteism, they write the people they disagree with in the most unlikable light, like parents abusing their children when they find out that they are closet Christians, a journalist contracting cancer because she's a liberal blogger, or that professor in the first film acting ridiculously out of line for a professor and creepily personally attacked when someone says they believe in God and having a ridiculously unrealistic portrayal of a philosophy class. I really don't see how you don't see how the films paint atheists in the worst possible light.

You should watch Prince of Egypt. It's so great, I wouldn't even call it a religious movie. Even a satanist would love it lol.

It's funny how different that movie is from Dreamworks' later fare, such as stuff like Shrek and Shark Tale.

in fairness there's a big difference between "movie with the primary purpose to push a viewpoint and everything else is irrelevant" and "movie that sets out first and foremost to be a good film while using a religious setting/plot"

prince of egypt falls solidly into the latter and does a fantastic job at it

I saw it more as a story of how terrible stubborness can be more than anything else. It's also not afraid to sugarcoat anything just to be family friendly or whatever. I mean there's a river of BLOOD and babies being sacrificed for starters.
