I never knew that watching Thomas Spindler (Voice of Wario in Japanese Mario Kart 64, Mario Party 1, 2 and Mario Kart: Super Circuit) goofing off on a segway set to a goofy music track and several wacky sound effects was something I needed in my life.

Childhood for me was literally everyone having a Wii and getting to play Mario Kart Wii, NSMBW, Wii Fit, etc. at my grandparents' house. Fun times, though they've all gotten rid of them by now unfortunately

I was born in 08, so my younger childhood was caught in that transitionary period between gen 7 and gen 8 consoles.

It went from the Wii being everywhere to mobile games as the next big thing and Nintendo becoming less culturally relevant after the Wii U flopped. Still played a lot of 3DS though. Then the Switch got popular while I was in middle school

Anyways this is the first new console drop I actually care about since I was literally 9

@Blitzo The Wii and all that are still played by retro gamers today; it's by no means irrelevant or defunct. And a lot of retro gamers are playing even OLDER consoles like the NES and the SNES.

I like reading about it and knowing Baby Luigi will get alts, but 80 dollars is way too expensive for it.

Not buying it. The MINIMUM outrageous $80 tag (alongside the Switch 2 itself being pretty overpriced) is Nintendo testing the waters and you bet the other publishers in the industry are watching to see if people buy.
