To the addressed company,
As you are likely aware, there is to be an event gala soon at the House of Scoccia, and as you have likely further surmised, my household is intent on hosting this for the express purpose of repairing our image with the general public. However, I wish to show more hospitality than simple pleasantries would permit. The actions of my cousin were heinous and reprehensible, and as individuals more... uniquely impacted by the happenings of the Admiral's Halo, I thought to extend a better hand.
Please, accept this invitation to my estate. On the coastline, not too terribly far from the House of Scoccia, you will find it to be an occasion for new connection and merriment. Fine dining and drinking are certain to be enjoyed. Our parlor is also primed for an evening of games.
I offer this while enduring the judgment of my kinship. Yes, we have a reputation to uphold - but we ought to consider those most unjustly harmed by the Admiral's Halo incident. I recognize you may not be willing to interface with any individual of the Scoccia name again. I understand. For those looking for hospitality, I will thoroughly indulge.
Yours in wind and wake,
Grigio Scoccia

What is Investigations Episode: Scoccia?
Investigations Episode: Scoccia is an in-universe continuation of the events in Randomizer Killing Game 2: Unsafe Harbor (lounge thread). Set sometime after the Killing Game, this game will explore the fallout of the tragedy at the Admiral's Halo, while also delivering entirely new mysteries to solve. This is in the Investigations style, a roleplay-forward investigation game akin to the Day Phase of a Killing Game. Players are expected to interact with npc's, search the map, and collect clues that will help to unravel the mysteries at hand.
Investigations games are run with a closed group of players, meaning the campaign will be centered around a core set of investigators. Additionally, Investigations are intended to be played over the course of one weekend (three days), allowing for a tight, responsive gameplay experience.
The episode will be tonally consistent with the experience of RKG2: plenty of room for silliness, but with a serious mystery and narrative experience at its core. Players are encouraged to reiterate on ideas and characters they introduced in RKG2, to create the sensation of a continuous, unified world.

When will this take place?
There is not currently an established timeframe for Investigations Episode: Scoccia to occur. Determining the dates will require the input of all members of the closed player group, as everybody's participation is vital. Additionally, I will need the opportunity to prepare for a specific weekend of play, including scheduling around the event.
To that end, the very earliest this game could take place is sometime in May, but it is far, far likelier that this chapter will be hosted sometime near the end of summer/beginning of fall (August or September). If the date needs to be pushed further back by necessity, this will be openly addressed with the players. This gives a set window for everyone to prepare their calendars, and gives me an established timeframe to develop all elements of the mystery, prepare artwork, etc. In the leadup to the game, I will be conferring with players to connect their characters and ideas for the world more integrally to the plot.
I'm interested! How do I participate?
I am looking for a group of 4 to 6 players to play Investigations Episode: Scoccia. I also want to ensure that this is a group of players who will thoroughly engage in the game. To that end, I am asking that you make a post indicating your interest in playing, and I will be personally selecting the participants from there.
Although anyone is welcome to post, please note that I will be generally prioritizing the following traits:
- Users who were participants or active spectators during the course of RKG2
- Users who have not previously had a lot of Investigations experience
- Users willing to use Discord
With that said, even if you don't cleanly match the criteria above, you are encouraged to indicate your interest. There might be space for you to join in the fun, or I might contact you in the event that a spot later needs to be reallocated.
Please note that if I do not select you to play, it is not in any way a personal slight against you. Investigations games work best with a more narrow player pool, so selectivity is required, but I would host every interested party if I could. For users who aren't chosen or otherwise might want to spectate, I can create a dedicated zone for spectator discussion, should the interest arise.
There is no strict deadline for voicing your interest in playing, but within the next week or two would be preferable.
Thank you for reading, and I'm excited to see what the winds of fate hold for us.
