Toad Goombas appeared in the concept art of M+R kingdom battle back in 2017, which if you play the game you'll see the artwork in the museum
#2 Koopa Redesign
If you don't know, the Koopa Troopas face was changed in Mario Wonder to have Bigger Cheeks and a Smaller Beak but turns out that same design also was planned for Kingdom Battle
