chaos.

He would've probably been voiced by someone mimicking Lou Albano Mario, or dare I say the same voice actor from Hotel Mario.

He'd still be a gruff Brooklyn guy in his 40s lol

i'm glad we didn't get this timeline but i am curious about how the mario rpgs would have gone with the pre-Martinet depiction of mario

the thought of Super Show, Hotel, or 1993 Movie Mario facing off against Count Bleck or Reclusa is an amusing one. And the team-ups with Bowser, imagine a whole grand adventure where Mario and Bowser are traveling together and they're both in their Super Show incarnations so King Koopa is constantly trash talking Mario with pasta-related insults and probably would come up with similarly cheesy insults for whatever villain they're facing. Because if Mario stayed with that portrayal it's hard for me to imagine the rest of the cast not sticking with their similar portrayals.

I don't think anything will fundamentally change except he'll sound different. I don't know exactly what they were looking for in the voice auditions, maybe we'd still get a similar sounding voice if that's the direction Nintendo wants.

I'm just glad Charles Martinet set the standard for the voices. I don't think the series would be as popular without his contributions. The DiC cartoons have a cult following but while most fans of the cartoons are also Mario franchise fans (including myself lol), some franchise fans don't like the cartoons.
