Unfortunately, I am not yet updating my old-new 'Shroom thread. Instead, I'm going to try consistently updating a thread for just one section. Seems easy enough. Ideally I'll expand this to Four Steps for a 3D World in a month or two, since that's the other section where it'd be useful to have a public archive of what has been covered and that I can open up to suggestions.

Slated for 2026: ----

Currently Seeking:
Paldean Pokémon!

Feel free to make suggestions if you want to see a certain Pokémon covered. For 218, I'd like to address the lack of Fighting-types, so if you'd like to make any suggestions this month, give them priority!

Do Hawlucha!

Well, well, three years on, and we finally have covered a Fighting-type! My thanks to all of you for your suggestions, and especially to Xiahou Ba for suggesting Hawlucha.

Since next month is a special issue, I won't be taking suggestions for it, but I'll let you know if there are any categories I'll be taking suggestions from in the future.

In the meantime, always feel free to suggest a Pokémon you want to see covered, and I'll look for places to pencil 'em in!

Oh, hey, double update.

As part of last month's villain takeover, aspiring Team Rocket grunts received a crash course in raising their... formidable... Zubat.

This month, back to business as usual, we instead cover the electrifying flying hunk of metal Magnezone, suggested by @Luci!

Now, for August's issue, I'll take suggestions for one week. In honor of Awards, I'm opening up the floor to your favorites. That's right, this month's theme is Your Favorite Pokémon!

Suggest your favorite (or 2nd favorite and so on, if they've already been covered) species of Pokémon out of all 1,025, and I'll randomly select one of the suggestions to cover in issue 221.

Go shout out a fave! Thanks for your continued support!

Hoho, we have a winner! Waluigi Time's favorite Chesnaught gets the prize!

Mimikyu has been added for a ghooostly October. Don't forget to go check out the scavenger hunt thread in the main thread so you can be a part of the ghost hunt!

As concerns September, though... The floor is open for any suggestions! Pick any 'mon that hasn't been covered before!

[External suggestions: Victini (Sparks)]

(Posted on Discord already but I'll do it here for posterity!)

To give Generation V and Fire Pokémon respect, I suggest one of my favorites - Victini!

Verily, verify by viewing with thine very own eyes that this month brings Victini!

As a reminder, October's pick is already selected, so I won't be taking suggestions this month. Big thanks to Sparks!

Unless you havent done him already you gotta do Mimiku

Here's one ghost you won't have to search for - this month's subject is Mimikyu!

Alright, so, for December's special, I'll be making a pick myself. That means this is the last pick of 2025. We're keeping it broad, though!

Give me a Pokémon that calls to mind "autumn"!

Harvest time with Appletun! Thanks for the suggestions this year, folks. To close out, I'll be choosing a Pokémon for the December special myself, but considering the success this year, I'll keep taking suggestions in 2026!

Here's a Mega-sized holiday treat for you! In issue 225, we borrowed the power of the moon to cover Mega Clefable!

This month also brought my first attempt at adapting this section to Legends Z-A's new real-time battle system. It remains quite new, so there's still much to discover. Do let me know if you want to see more editions covering this style, or if you want the section to stick exclusively to the turn-based format, or even if you want these restricted to special occasions or something.

Anyhoo! For January, you've heard the song, yeah? "Should old acquaintance be forgot, and never brought to mind?". Let's take a moment to think about the departed, and pick a Ghost-type for issue 226! You can let me know if you want it to be covered in the real time style or turn-based style.

Straight from the waters of Galar, it's Cursola! Thank you for sharing your selection of spirits with me over the holidays!

Covering Cursola inspired me to do something a little out of the ordinary. Next month, I'll be covering Galarian Corsola for a little bit of compare-and-contrast and to give the section another rare appearance from a non-fully-evolved Pokémon. Worry not, though! I'll open suggestions back up for March.
