There are so many art styles in the Mario series. But there art styles that haven't been used yet. Which ones do you think that should be featured in a Mario game?

For me, I have got two that I want.

#1 on my list is the Ayami Kojima's artstyle (of post-Symphony of the Night Castlevania fame)

This artist is a total genius. She knows how to make things look realistic and appealing for all audiences.

Here are some samples of some of Ayami Kojima's work:

#2 on my list is chibi art style

I have seen games such as Mega Man Powered Up on the PSP pull off such a great chibi art style. I really wish the Mario series could do that with a spinoff where the characters are all chibi.

Here is an example of what it could look like:

Also if Peach ever does become playable, I would like there to be an option for her to have different outfits and hairstyles to choose from (much like Roll does in Mega Man Powered Up) and they can be unlockable and not DLC (unlike Roll's case in Mega Man Powered Up). Peach should have different movesets for each of her outfits.

Uh, I disagree on Kojima's artstyle, it REALLY doesn't fit Mario.

I'd like this particular art style to be featured in a 2D platformer at some point:

It would be a nice break from the tired of the 2D New Super Mario Bros. artstyle and it looks great in a literal 2D environment, where New Super Mario Bros. refuses to evolve 3D tilesets.

While I like how Mario looks already I wouldn't be opposed to an animated look like what blof posted.
